Caramel Apple Pastry.....
A few years ago at the Blue Bayou Restaraunt in Disneyland I had a dessert that was an apple with some kind of caramel in it, but it was wrapped up in a pastry. It was soooooo yummy, but I can't seem to find any kind of recipe on line that is similar. The apple was whole and I think (not sure) that the core was filled with a caramel sauce. I don't know what kind of dough it was wrapped in, but it was all baked together, it was so good. Any ideas?????

http://www.chefjohnny.com/recipes/baked-apple.htm was it something like this?
this is a really good caramel apple recipe, maybe you could modify it and wrap it in puff pastry

It sounds to me like an Amish apple dumpling. A google search will bring up plenty of recipes to pick from. You can use pie dough as your wrapper, or puff pastry for something more elegant.

The first one @ chefjohnny.com looks almost exactly like what I had! Thanks! The only thing that wasn't on mine was the marshmallow, other than that it looks nearly identical!
Can't wait to bake them! Thank you!
