My husband took a mix of cookies to his office lunch-time party. The chocolate drop cookies with chocolate chunks were a big hit. I'm taking a from-scratch version of green bean casserole to my office party and a sun-dried tomato feta cheese ball to an evening event with friends.

This year, I'm dedicated to bringing hostess gifts that don't need to be warmed up, put into water, or thrown out at the end of the night. I have bought several of these fantastic cupcake T-shirts from link www.blacksheepstyle.com. They are calorie free and a festive reminder of a great party. Check out this website for the cupcake and other great T-shirt designs www.blacksheepstyle.com

My lovely friend is hosting Christmas dinner this year, so I am bringing a pumpkin cheesecake with sour cream amaretto glaze. It's a pretty basic recipe, doctored and adjusted with a little holiday booze!

My department at work is having a holiday party, the theme of which is holidays around the world. Well, I'm bringing something to represent the good ol' USA - cupcakes! All of them will be minis. I'm making vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with peppermint cream cheese frosting, spiked cider cupcakes (apple cider cupcakes with spiced buttered rum frosting), and spice cakes with eggnog cream cheese frosting - no booze in the frostings of the latter two, alas, as there will be kids at the party.

I always get requests for my cream cheese bundt cake, topped with homemade chocolate ganache and a light sprinkling of confectioner's sugar. The recipe is the old Southern Living standard, with a few secret modifications. >:) People love it!

Goat cheese tarts: pear & proscuitto and mushroom, both with thyme. Good warm or room temp and hearty.

Every year around the holiday I make up vats of homemade lemoncello. I go thru about a case of 100 proof vodka every season. I put in pretty bottles and bring bring it as hostess gifts for dinners, etc. I don't generally find myself in pot luck situations (though I wish I did, because I love pot luck, but when I do, I tend to go with either gingercake or roasted veg soup.

I am bringing a mushroom quiche. Actually it's Barbara Bush's recipe that was posted on the food network. I make it better, though, by replacing the button mushrooms with a mixture of shitake, oyster, and cremini. Then, I also add some sort of good cheese - not swiss or cheddar. Something more creamy.

We had a little cooky swap. I brought Russian Tea Cakes and Gingerbread Biscotti.
