Unusual holiday gift ideas?
I thought this looked rather amusing:
Foodie Fight. It can be purchased at Sur la Table and elsewhere.
What non-standard gifts for SE-types have you seen lately?

Thanks for the tip, I just ordered it!

This is more of a joke gift, but I'm getting it for a couple of my fellow foodie friends:
Gastroanomlies (by the same guy who brought us the famous Gallery of Regrettable Food.
However, I'm going to Sur la Table tomorrow to snatch up Foodie Fight for my mother. She will LOVE it. Thanks for the suggestion!

I recently posted that I am really in to ham.
When I was growing up my immediate family always gave a superb (yet small) ham to my great/great aunt. She was older, lived alone and was on a fixed income. The ham provided her not only with various meals for weeks (she froze everything) but also an opportunity to have a few freinds (also older and living on a fixed income) over for a special dinner. She new what was inside that foil wrapped package evreytime but her smile when she opened it still touches a soft spot deep within me.

I just bought Foodie Fight! I couldn't figure out whether to keep it for myself and throw a party around it or give it to someone. Still haven't decided.
A cool gift I got one year was a Mushroom Log. I lived in the middle of no-f*ing-where and had no access to cool ingredients like exotic mushrooms. This really did the trick!
I've always lusted after these Aged Balsamics. This is of course if money is not an object.
This Truffle Salt is also really nice and won't break the bank.

A vintage apron and a gift certificate to a salon for a bouffant hairdo could be fun.

With the cupcake craze taking over the entire country, a really cool T-shirt with a cupcake design is a great gift! There's a terrific one by California artist Nancy Whitcraft on www.blacksheepstyle.com. What a great way to give a gift of food with no calories! Check out her site -- there are some very unique designs!

Threadless.com has some hilarious food-related T-shirt designs. I couldn't resist getting the one with the cheese grater.

Karen, you crack me up... "Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is to look like Betty Crocker..." Too funny! And did you see those bacon bandages at fredflare.com? 8-O
Great ideas, everyone. Personally, I won't be buying the Foodie Fight for myself or anyone else. Sadly, I have nobody sufficiently knowledgable (or interested) to play it with me.
:-(
Maybe they'll come up with an on-line version to play with my SE playmates?
