Perfect New Year's' Eve
My perfect new year's eve is a dinner of comfort food, some champagne, a warm glow in the fireplace, some cool music and my dearest friends. Do you have any new year's eve traditions? Your favorite meal? Your favorite beverage? Rockin' music or slow dancing?

For several years we went to a fabulous party on a fancy ship docked in Boston with front row seats the the midnight fireworks .. very exclusive, with good friends, fabulous food and the envious looks of the First Night revellers - what more could you want?
But .... last year our neighbors had a kids-friendly New Year's Eve where we toasted the New Year at 9:00 pm with a choice of Champagne or Sprite. The entertainment? Guitar Hero while the kids acted like groupies - It was more fun than the big "to do!"

Our family tradition is this: roaring fire (even if it's 90 degrees outside; we just turn down the A/C!), Dick Clark on TV, loads of champagne and wine and -- most importantly -- heaps of caviar served on/with special mother-of-pearl dishes and spoons. It's our once-a-year caviar indulgence. It's just not New Year's without it!

This year we're going to a newyear's party, but I'd rather just stay at home, have a glass of champagne, eat lots of food and go to bed early. I'm just not a party girl. Too bad for me that hubby loves parties.
