I found it!
http://www.sideswipeblade.com/
also there was one http://pourfectbowl.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=3&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=3&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=28
Here is hoping it works.
Anyone try any of these?

Makes you wonder why no one ever thought of that before!

And now I wonder which is better. I hadn't seen the one from pourfectbowl. It's definitely prettier.
Any KitchenAid masters care to speculate?

I ordered the swipe blade so when it comes I will give you an update. I am weary from all my baking and scraping. Necessity is the mother of invention.

I've had the sideswipe blade on my wish list for a few weeks....hoping I get it for Christmas, I think it looks neat.

I'll probably get one, but I wonder if maybe the clearance between the beater and bowl might not serve a purpose in some cases?
For instance, as the beater squeezes the batter/dough through the clearance space it squashes it and stretches it out. This could enhance the mixing action.
Also, the swipe blade looks like it will create more drag, which could strain the mixer motor.
WIll the mixer manufacturers honor their warranties if you use aftermarket attachments?
