If you had a candy bar made for yourself, what would it be?
This question was posed over on the Candy Addict blog (fun site, check it out!). My bar would be called "Totally Nuts" which would contain chunks of roasted almonds, pecans, cashews mixed in chewy caramel & dipped in 52% dark chocolate with a smudge of peanut butter. The bar would be bumpy & round yet only weigh 1 oz. & packaged in clear cellophane to reveal it's deliciousness. What would your candy bar specs be? Does the name and or ingredients describe your personality?

I guess a combination of a Nestle's Crunch and a Reese Cup. I love those little crispy rice things in the Cruch Bar and I could eat peanut butter all day. So does that mean I'm crunchy and nuts?

I am a york peppermint patty. I am cool and refreshing and covered in chocolate. I think it pretty much covers it. Get the sensation LOL!!

I'd want a chewy nougat center, like Torrone, covered in a thick layer of Dove dark chocolate that's been mixed with little pieces of hard toffee. It would be shaped like a Chunky bar.

Something sweet and salty, like a Pearson's nut roll. Because I guess even a sweet girl like me has a salty side!
While we're discussing candy, I can across this little game that might be of interest to the collective SE sweet tooth: Name that Candy Bar.

They already make it. It's called a Watchamacallit or a Hershey's Take 5 Peanut Butter or a Twix Peanut Butter or a Ritter Sport Corn Flakes bar.

Oooh interesting question!
Well, lately I've been into chocolate bars with pop rocks, so I think I would make a combination of a Twix bar (I like the cookie part) with pop rocks. Sounds insane but I think I would love it! Oh, and in dark chocolate of course :)

It would be the Reggie Bar, circa 1978, from Standard Brands (now part of RJR Nabisco)
No seriously - I invented it.

Way back in high school this girl in my class sold what she called "cookie-chip chocolates," little hunks of chocolate with chunks of chocolate chip cookies in them. I was a regular customer! If I could have that, but with oatmeal cookies, that would rock. Otherwise, anything with either peanut butter or coconut and dark chocolate. Yum.

What would your candy bar specs be?
It would be like those chocolate candy bars that have four discrete filled pieces but instead of four it would have eight, four on each side.
Each piece would be different. The first discrete bite would be of dark bittersweet chocolate filled with a cherry, just like "chocolate covered cherries" but the usual gloppy cherry liquid would be replaced with amaretto.
The second bite would be white chocolate with a filling of cinnamon "red hots" made into an airy mousse.
Third a milk chocolate filled with pistachio halvah.
Fourth a shatteringly crisp spun sugar enclosing a piece of dried pear surrounded by lemon vodka.
Fifth would be thin apricot leather with a filling of fluffy marshmallow.
Sixth back to dark chocolate with a filling like a Kit Kat bar.
Seventh milk chocolate again with a dense bittersweet chocolate filling blended with bits of a good dark roast coffee bean.
Eighth and last bite . . . eighth and last bite . . . well really I can not imagine finishing this candy bar at all so can not imagine what the last bite would be.
Does the name and or ingredients describe your personality?
It would have to be named the Octavian bar.
Goodness knows if it describes my personality. It might, but there are no nuts in it.

I have a similar idea as Karen's. Mine would be fudgy chocolate with pieces (all connected) with some of my favorite fillings -- a cherry and rum creme, coconut creme, chocolate espresso mousse and Irish cream creme. Kinda like connected truffles or See's candies! Mmmmm..... As for personality, it describes me as a chocoholic!

Dark chocolate filled with wintergreen cream. As far as I know, wintergreen chocolates are available only in the Boston area. If anyone knows where else to get them, I would love to know.

I think I might go for roasted, salted almonds in 72-75% chocolate, possibly with a hint of Earl Grey. I'm not sure that describes my personality, but it's definitely one of my favorites...

What fun it has been to read your responses! LiveToEat--I really missed a bunch when guessing the candy bars by cross-section in your link :) I don't get out much--ha! Karen R--your candy bar would satisfy lots of taste cravings & very descriptive! Seems most of us prefer chocolate and/or peanut butter:) Now I'm formulating my next candy bar...why settle for just one?

JEP, I love how you've thought of all the specifics for yours, including packaging! My candy bar would probably be like a really high-class dark-chocolate Almond Joy, but with a higher proportion of almonds and chocolate to the coconut. I love this question.

a bar of scharfenberger's milk chocolate that magically reproduces itself.

Sneers
Kind of like a Snickers, but with bitter chocolate!
srhcb at 1:00PM on 12/21/07
Torrone was a favorite candy of mine growing up and I'd love to fashion a confection out of it to represent myself! Only, I'd dip it in chocolate... Heh, heh, heh.
