I just made a really good parsnip apple soup and am now working on my application for grad school - not baking, obviously, but I'll be up late with you, Jerzee!

And WOW you're making a lot of cookies!!! I turned into a lazy wench this December (well, also, my mixer DIED so I can't make anything until my new one gets here) and I'm not making any holiday cookies this year. I've showered my friends and coworkers with tons of cupcakes over the past few months so I'm not doing any extra baking for them this month. I think I just sounded like the Grinch.

In a similar vein as charm city cupcake, I am up to my ears in intellectual property law.

But as soon as finals are done, I'll be make the devils food cake from Tartine for my parents' anniversary. Haven't picked any cookies yet, but probably will keep that simple. My sister likes to make Mexican wedding cakes, but I might make a few sugar cookies for the nieces and nephews to decorate. Maybe some kind of raspberry or lemon bar. I did these fig x-cookies from Baking with Julia last year that I loved, but the recipe yield was huge. Maybe I'll do a half or third batch.

I'm thinking of making the Elvis Presley pound cake recipe in my mini Bundt pans for gifts; not decided yet. I'll probably do some chocolate biscotti (my mom gives them for gifts). And for Christmas dinner, a simple cheesecake, perhaps offering a couple sauces.

No marathon yet - that's this weekend.

I did, however, bake two batches of cookies to bring to work for a cooky exchange. I made Russian Tea Cakes (which will be credited to my BF who was under the weather) and Gingerbread Biscotti.

This weekend will be a flour-fest!

I made these:

I was planning on doing the marathon this weekend, but it already looks like those plans might go awry . . . .

I made jam thumbprints, too. I finally finished everything last night and tins of goodies are sitting on co-workers desks. This year they get:

Peanut Brittle
Chocolate Pecan Toffee
Cheddar Crackers
Sugar Cookies
Honey Rosemary Glazed Nuts

For the family, I still have to finish Pumpkin Bread, Empanadas, and Sugared Pecans.

my neighbor and i made caramel apples this week. i'm also thinking i might make the salted caramels from Chez Pim, and Dorie Greenspan's Spice roll-out cookies to make as tree ornaments.

i'm doing far less baking this year than i have in previous years.

21 hours all last weekend. I made:

2 batches of Double Chocolate Mint Sandwich Cookies
3 batches of Sugar Cookies (the icing on them got less and less artistice lol)
2 batches of Molasses Cookies
1 batch of fudge
2 batches of Shortbread
1 batch of Vanilla Marshmallows
1 batch of Peppermint Marshmallows
1 batch of Almond Turtles
1 batch of Pecan Turtles
1 batch of Walnut Turtles
2 batches of Peppermint Patties

Shopped on Thursday, baked all weekend, and made deliveries Monday! And I'm spent...

I started my stollen (4 loaves) an hour ago, currently rising right now. They look so good, I can't wait to bite into a piece. I used dried cherries, golden raisins, currants and apricots, all soaked in rum for two days. Two have a marzipan center, the other two were brushed with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar before being rolled and shaped.

Yesterday and the day before was cookie day, I did regular and almond spritz; pistachio butter cookies, toasted coconut and pecan butter cookies, homemade milanos, cherry pinwheels, raspberry pinwheels, cuccidati and chocolate crackles.

I've got my easy peasy cheater rumballs and a couple of rum cakes to make and I'll be done.

20 Fruitcakes.

Seriously.

I am glad to say my marathon is over. Boy are my arms tired. Legs too. I have packaged and cookie tinned and wrapped and boxed. The kitchen is back together. Now I can stop.

Well, my MIL and I are making 14 kinds of cookies...all at least double batches. The marathon began tonight with dough making. I managed to check and double check my ingredients before shopping to be sure I had everything I needed. All looked good until I started making dough...I forgot to check my vanilla quantity.....arrgh....I ran out after 2 doughs! So, I will be out buying vanilla tomorrow.....sigh...

Well, if we caount the marathon as starting the day after Thanksgiving my list so far includes:
Bittersweet Carrot-Orange Baby Bundts
Candied Peel (for Mincemeat filling)
Mincemeat Filling
Tiny little Christmas Mince Pies
Apple-Cambozola Tartlets
Snowflake Cookies
Assorted Sugar and Gingerbread Cookies
Raspberry Bread Pudding
An ambitious project for Daring Bakers which I am not allowed to reveal until everyone posts on the 22nd

And I still have a number items waiting to be made...

I just came back from the post office and all my care packages are on their way. Some will be picked up here starting next weekend. I am so glad I am done because I AM TIRED!!! Thank you all for sharing your good work and bless you for making something with your own hands.
Seasons Greetings and Eatings!!!!

Ooh, stollen sounds good. Maybe I'll give it a try next weekend.

I've made
Hokey Pokey
Sparkle cookies
Amaretti
Espresso Caramels
Date balls
Fleur de sel caramels coated in milk chocolate
Cherry and almond fudge (real fudge)
Pecan fudge (wierd pretend fudge)

I'll probably make some truffles and other stuff for people this weekend.

We finished our baking/making last night!

2 batches of peppermint bark
2 batches of soda cracker candy (yum!)
1 1/2 batches of sugar-ginger cookies
1 batch of fudge
2 batches of cornflake wreaths

Amazingly I didn't have to look up any of the recipes. It was a proud moment!

Baked a coupla batches last weekend:
Peanut butter cookies with chocolate kisses sunk in the middle--classic.
These amaaaazing spoon cookies a la 2005 Gourmet mag (amaaazing).
Fresh cranberry, chocolate, and walnut cookies -- everyone's new favorite.
