What foods warm your heart?

My top three all begin with the letter "C". Coffee, cheese & chocolate! Combine these 3 in the same meal...heaven :) What are your feel-good foods?

Anything sweet.

And peanut butter.

Hmm. Basically all foods that I really like. But, especially at this time of year, I always look forward to a few things: my mom's Ole Stew (as in oh-lay, and it's a butternut squash and veggie soup), pumpkin bread, fresh apples, hot cocoa, oatmeal, cappuccinos. And, gimme a coffee smoothie any time of the year and I'm good! Mmmm :)

Hot tea with honey. Mmm, just having some now!

Milky tea with some kind of biscuit - either speculaas or something marzipany. A nice, hearty bowl of soup is also good, like butter bean, which I am making as I write this. Also, a glass of delicious red wine on a blustery autumn weekend afternoon. I don't drink much red because it tends to give me a headache, but that's the one time it's really indispensible.

One word: Goulash.

my mom's beef/veggie/noodle stew.

Chicken noodle soup with biscuits and butter.

Spaghetti and meatballs. Warm bowl of soup and some good bread.
Cheese, salami and good bread. Eggs, bacon and hash browns with toasted (good) bread.

Tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich.

Bean Soup with cornbread

sweet and sour brisket, chopped liver, and chicken matzo ball soup.

Pumpkin bread, carrot cake. Good soup.

Hot cocoa, cream of wheat, tapioca.

Soup, almost any kind. Black tea, brewed the right way (loose leaf, in a warmed tea pot), with lemon and fruit jam. Milky coffee--fancy lattes and cappucino, sure, but also just home brew with some warm milk.

another "C" food----cinnamon toast..with lots of warm butter & cinnamon sugar ;)

My non-foodie friend only knows one recipe... chicken and dumplings. She made it for dinner last night, and it was truly heart warming. Isn't there a saying about knowing how to do one thing well?

a cup of good coffee with a shot of gran marnier. warms me up every time;) as for food i have to agree with Jep coffee cheese and chocolate! but i can also add some fresh bread to the list.

Love Cheese. Nearly any kind.
Love Cake. Nearly any kind.
Love Coffee. Strong is better but weak is better than none.

When I get sad or need a touchstone to my past, I make Gravy with Meatballs, Sausage and Macaroni. It could be dried, like Rigatoni but all the better if I can whip up a batch of gnocchi. I always feel better after having that. It's like being wrapped in a big Italian blanket.

carbs, chocolate

Macaroni and cheese made with Gruyere cheese. Polenta with butter and parmesan-reggiano. Spaghetti with olive oil, parm and red pepper flakes. Really any carb with cheese will do.

coffee, good hearty soup, and lasagna

Grilled peanut butter & honey sandwich
Four cheese raviola tossed in creamy cheese sauce

chocolate malt-o-meal with a splash of half and half; warm, fresh brioche w/ nutella; steak-n-gravy and fried potatoes; homemade mac-n-cheese; strong, hot sugary tea.

Soups! Especially tomato basil and butternut squash. And some nice crusty bread to use instead of a spoon.

Mushroom ot tomato bisque soups....Mmmm

A nice cheesy homemade baked macaroni and cheese. A thick piece of lasagna. BBQ ribs off the grill. Pecan pie!

I really enjoy a warm drink from time to time...whether it be hot cocoa or a gingerbread latte. It's always so soothing!
