Thanksgiving Appetizers

I've been instructed to bring an appetizer to Thanksgiving that doesn't require heating (to save on oven space). I have a few ideas, but what would YOU bring besides a salad?

I do an antipasto. A caprese buffalo mozzarella plate, cold aparagus, some sliced italian salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, sharp provolone, olives, roasted peppers. I put out cibatta bread with it and they pick on it while we get the meal together.

how about a cheese plate. 3 or 4 different cheeses, a selection of crackers, some fruit be it fresh, dried or a jam. easy travels well and no cooking required at all.

Pickles! I can't stop making them!

How about Cranberry Pecan Cheddar Cheese Spread with some type of crackers?

Hope this helps!

i usually make the barefoot contessa's onion dip; it's from her first cookbook (can also be found here. serve it room temperature. it's always a big hit.

Love the antipasto and cheese plate ideas! Or you could do a nice garlicky white bean dip, drizzled with a fruity olive oil, with flatbreads/crackers and crudite on the side. Also a nice tapenade is easy to whip up and delicious, with a creamy cheese to spread on crackers (heck, I've even served it with plain old whipped cream cheese).

I did the antipasto thing one year and my family adored it.

Softened cream cheese, some baby shrimp and a jar of good cocktail sauce; layer together and serve with a variety of crackers. Which cracker is best would, of course, make a great "Talk Topic". Never had a plate of this go unlicked and everyone raving, "how easy was that!"

Deviled eggs. Most people like them, and even though they're easy to make, people consider them fiddly or difficult.
