pork neck?
I have a couple of pounds of pork neck + bones thawing in my fridge. Other than ragu and pork stock, what can I make with them?

Can I jump up and down and insist you make ragu? LOLOL. Sorry. I just love what pork neck bones do to tomato sauce. Swoonworthy.

If you're interested in being adventurous, there's a Thai dish that involves basting pork neck in a sticky sauce and roasting it. I'm not sure what it's called, but Google can probably help.

This is from Donna Hay Magazine (australia)
1.7kg pork neck
50g piece ginger, sliced
4 garlic cloves,
1 long red chili halved
4 star anise
1/2 cup brown sugar (90grams)
1 cup (250ml_ Shaoxing (chinese cooking wine)
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1 tsp chinese 5 spice
Preheat oven to 180 degree celsius (355 F). Place pork, ginger, garlic, chili and star anise in deep heavy based pan with lid. Place the sugar, Shaoxing, oyster sauce and five spice in a bowl and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Pour over pork and cover with tight fitting lid. Cook for 2 hours turning half way though. Increase heat to 200 C/390 F and cook for a further 30 mins or until pork is sticky and tender.
