My favorite spicy food is ______

Cuisine-wise, I lean toward Mexican foods. Jalapeno cornbread, ginger cookies & an occassional hot Chai tea are all my preferences. What highly spiced foods do you seek out?

Thai Red Curry. Not wimpy (like yellow) and not too spicy (like green), red curry is flavorful but quite bold.

On the Mexican side, I like anything with poblano peppers. Thin walled but they pack a flavor punch, poblanos are good for so many things - they replace green bells quite handily.

For Chinese - I love Szechuan Beef. It was the first spicy Chinese food I ever had and I was hooked. (Prior to that it was all Cantonese which I now find too bland to go near...)

I love pasta arrabiata for its kick. I also love hot salsa on lots of things. Thai curry and Indian dishes are also favourites. It's like picking a favourite child!

My mom makes a wonderful, spicy Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya. My mouth always burns after eating it, but it is so good!

Mexican! Then Indian... then Thai.

Ooh... how could I forget harissa?!

Italian foods made with peperoncino, definitely, although they don't usually satisfy my craving for serious heat. When I'm in the mood for that, I head for Indian food...

kimchi jiggae and also just straight up kimchi

Pommery Mustard w/Green Peppercorns. It's hands down my favorite spicy single food item. I will happily eat a spoonful of this mustard the way most people do with peanut butter. Spicy without pain. Love the stuff. For actual food, I'd go with Indian, closely followed by Thai.

Oh, and like mrsbao, love the kimchi.

Good question! I love most spicy foods, but two of my favorites are the habanero-stuffed olives at Fairway (they will set your whole world on fire) and, in Mexico, in the markets, jicama slices covered in lime juice and sprinkled with chili powder. Best snack in the world!

This reminds me of a time when my son was in the second grade. He was chosen student of the week and had to fill out a little form about himself. His favorite food was Inner Beauty. When he got to high school, he would carry around a bottle of Sriracha to have with his lunch. He would dip his french fries in it.

Anything with habaneros in it. I usually have a fresh chili pepper with every meal and will bring my own chilies to restaurants, if I can remember. My favorite spicy foods are...

- Thai green curry
- Vietnamese pho - with a lot of sriracha
- Mexican habanero salsas
- Hot Italian sausage

My new favorite spicy condiment is sambal oelek. I'll throw a spoonful or two of that into everything from stir fry to sandwich spread.

I keep dried chile japones in the house to add to stir fries if I don't have fresh hot chiles. They're about the right level of hot for me without being overwhelming (like the dried thai bird chiles can be).

I adore Cabot's Habenero Cheddar Cheese and frequently add it to grits or scrambled eggs for breakfast on the weekends! A little goes a long way.

I love hot and sour soup! And buffalo chicken sandwiches! And spicy curries....I just love spicy foods in general! :)
