Food Network Cookware? Hit or Miss?
Food Network Cookware from Kohls
So what do you ya'll think about Food Network getting into the cookware business? Will it be a Hit or will it be a huge Miss? I'm hoping that they make some things that are decent quality and functional (here's hoping AB is behind the R&D for this stuff).

Haven't heard about it yet. . .Who is the primary manufacturer?

I think if TVFN is getting into the cookware business, their pans will be the equivalent of paper plates, like much of their programming.
As for "celebrity sponsored" cookware - I swear by Wolfgang Puck's set. It meets all my criteria: Stainless steel, sandwich construction, riveted handles, no plastic on the handles, pourable lip (hate pans that dribble everything down the side). I used them in my restaurant and they stood up to some serious abuse.

Secrets to Good Gravy? Help!

I too have the Wolfgang Puck set. They were a gift and I thought surely I would hate them. Much like chiff I was surprised at how good they were. I think my mother bought them on Home Shopping (HSN). The pots have nothing to do with FoodTV, which is probably why they are good.
Last weekend a friend and I went on a 12"-14" pan trek. He ultimately decided on a All Clad 13" french skillet which is on special practically everywhere for $99.99. It is a nice pan for the money.
I love to mix my pans up.

I too am looking for anyone who has tried the "Food Network Cookwear" put out by Kohl's? I took a quick look at them in store and they look "PRETTY GOOD & STRONG" but I'm unable to find any reviews on them. Please anyone if you have tried this stainless steel set please let me know if they are worth it. The price is good and the variety of pots is excellent providing it passes the test. HELP!

looking for feedback on same "food network tri-ply stainless steel cookware" sold by Kohls..Looks sturdy and really the best looking cookware I have seen lately. Can't find any information on this brand so far. Price is reasonable with coupons. Feeback needed.

OK we did it! My wife and I went to Kohls and picked up the Food Network Stainless tri-ply cookwear set. And we are very happy with them, the pans heat up fast cool down as soon as they come off the heat, heating is even, and they are nice and heavy, but not too heavy. I think they have a home run here becaus they are priced right and seen to be of very good quality. Weather they hold up long term remains to be seen. Oh and the handles do not get hot! We are so happy with then we went back and purchased the 1qt sause pan and 12qt multi cooker. We had looked at all the big brand sets costing hundreds more, and these just seemed like a no brainer for the price.............. time will tell. Paid $299.00plus ad ons

So far, so good, eh? I'll wait until Cooks Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen does their testing. I've never been sorry I purchased anything they recommended. They not only tell you which product performed the best, but they will recommend something more affordable if comparable. That said, I do have high hopes for this new cookware - it looks great!

I recently purchased a Food Network annodized set and am very satisfied. I was originally going to but Calphalon until I started comparing finish (Food Network pots had a lip for pouring where Calphalon did not), FN had a better feel and nicer handles, and value. After a lot of deliberation because I like to buy American, I found that Calphalon was made in different countries including the US that caused concern about consistency.
Performance of the FN product is great so far and the price could not be beat.

I'm with Chiff and Jerzee about the Wolfgang Puck cookware. I've had it for a few years and it's great. It was actually recommended to me by a chef at Canyon Ranch, who I was interviewing for a story on cookware.

I just bought foodnetwork hard anodized 12" jumbo nonstick pan...and it was not up to my expectations. it said that it is metal utensil safe...but i is not. i used metal tongs for searing meat and droped it by mistake, and it made a deep scratch. ..the i was cooking ribs, and meat with bones in it.. and i tell u they made visible scratches and lines on the bottom.. i was very disappointed as it had just been a few days i purchased it. so please buy a calphalon or something else if u want cookware to last long... just not this brand.
