Emeril on Food Network

Just wanted to say that Emeril got me to start cooking in earnest and when I met him I was pleased - he took the time to talk to us and asked an assistant to give us an autographed copy of his book. Food Network is falling down on the job of cooking - and please FN - no more Rachael Ray!

Someone else who met Emeril, AHHHHHH!!! I been a big fan since 1993 and unless he gets lost of 95 and land on my front door step I will never get to meet him. Oh well. Ok done whining now.

I was wondering if anyone else missed him! I loved Emeril's show, so much talent and information there! I really do not want to see another one of Racheal Ray's little shows...The food network has lost some seriously talented chef's over the years when you think about it!

My gourmet group and I got tickets to a taping of Emeril Live (I want to say 1997?). Long before he had music...LOL. Eartha Kitt was the celebrity guest. He did a whole show on veggies and even came over to ask our group a couple of questions.

Emeril definitely gave a shot in the arm to cooking in the US. He made it approachable and fun. "It's not rocket science," may have become old but for someone who is intimidated by cooking, it's a good mantra.

Let's face it - he's a whole lot better than Sandra Lee. At least he cooks real food.

I was never a fan of Emeril but I am surprised about this news! He was definitely an icon, love him or hate him.
