When craving a velvety, creamy food, I eat ____

Do you ever get food texture cravings----like needing to satisfy a desire for something crispy, crunchy, chewy or smooth? For creamy, velvety foods, I seek out things like: Fage yogurt, brie cheese, avocado, mushroom bisque soup, warm butterscotch pudding or a baked sweet potato. How do you fill in the blank?

Dare I say .... Velveeta?

My favorite creamy velvety treat is full fat large curd cottage cheese with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Have to have it every day between breakfast and lunch.

Mac and Cheese

Well, I'm going to have combine srhcb and susanl's answer and say mac and cheese w/ something like velveeta. Of course, I only crave that about once a year, but it can be so good.

Whipped cream, mashed potatoes, sliced avocado. I like the mushroom soup idea.

This weekend I ate some homemade agnolotti in a cream sauce; I usually avoid cream sauces with pasta, but this was very good.

I have a recipe for banana pudding that I got from my mother-in-law (I belive that the recipe was originally published by Eagle brand.) It includes instant pudding mix, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream (whipped), and of course, bananas and wafers.

The whipped cream is folded into the pudding, and gives it a wonderful light texture. It is almost like banana mousse instead of pudding. Creamy, smooth, sweet, and delicious!

Very fresh silken tofu with a drizzle of sesame oil, ponzu and chili oil on top.

Depending on mood - day - season - calories-be-d@mned state of mind... any of the following:

Some type of Bisque (seafood, mushroom, lobster)
Scratch Mac & Cheese
Risotto or Polenta
Pasta with some type of Cream sauce
Ice Cream (only in summer)
Chocolate Mousse
Pastry containing cream such as a cream puff

Believe it or not, Thai curry made with coconut milk can also quell my need for silky foods.

For days when I'm feeling decadent:

Riopelle de l’Isle, a delicious triple cream cheese from Quebec.
Creme Brulee

For regular days:

Fresh fruit/yogurt smoothies
Hummus
Vanilla ice cream, mango gelato, frozen yogurt

When I think velvety and smooth, I think of chocolate, which includes cake batter, mousse, the creamy inside of a truffle and chocolate dipping sauce. I was in need of chocolate over the weekend, and I combined, butter, cocoa powder, milk and some powdered sugar in a saucepan. It turned out nice and thick and bittersweet -- perfect for dipping a tart apple.

Chocolate mousse
vanilla milkshake
cookie dough
fudge

Its a bit odd but chicken noodle soup w/ crushed saltines after its sit a while and the crackers are all mushy.

dal. especially channa dal.

LaSalle Vanilla ice cream! PS: Lasalle is better than Haagan Daz

Cascade Fresh yogurt. So yummy!

Mac and cheese. Actually, anything with cheese. Straight from the fridge. On bread. However I can most quickly get it into my mouth.

Runner up: tuna salad with avocado. And cheese.

Cream of Wheat, mac 'n cheese, panna cotta, creme brulee, and egg salad. Sometimes yogurt.

for creamy and sweet i like a good ole fashioned bowl of oatmeal with cinnamon and dried fruit for sweetness

something mild, delicate, teasing on the tongue and comforting at the same time. italian asiago cheese on soft bread and butter, drizzled with honey. slurpable chawanmushi, with oyster inside for a bonus!! warm tau huay, or sweet silken soya beancurd floating in a sweet clear soup of sugar syrup...

chocolate pudding
fettucine alfredo
chicken salad
cream style soup

So many creamy, velvety foods...and so little time...adding cheesecake, Haagen-Dazs and a local chocolatier's dessert called Chocolate Decadence which is like eating the inside of huge truffle topped with white choc whipped cream :)

Ooooooo… Creamy, smooth, velvety… one of my favorite mouth-feels (right up there with salty-crunchy stuff, like chips)… let’s see… depends on the mood, so I’ll list my tops…
• Avocado
• Pureed soups, bisques, etc. (most kinds, most days)
• Avocado
• Triple-cream brie, camembert, mascarpone, cheese fondue
• Avocado
• Ultra rich, extra saucy mac & cheese from scratch
• Avocado
• Pumpkin pie filling, flan, crème brulee, custard éclair, the knee-weakening banana soufflé at The Polo Lounge… believe it or not, I’m not at all big on sweets, but when I do get a craving… well, you get the picture…
• Avocado… oh, wait… did I say that already? ;-p

I forgot-- I also love to take heavy whipping cream, cocoa powder, and sugar, and beat it into a thick, creamy paste and eat it with a spoon.

mascarpone, straight out of the tub.

Mr. Softee, you can't get creamier or more velvety. On the other hand, it's not summer anymore, so:

My mashed potatoes in a sea of red wine enhanced brown gravy
A really good triple-cream cheese
Dove Dark Chocolate
Home made banana cream pie

I made a creamy, rich polenta last night...sooo good. Also, thought about how much I enjoy that creamy deviled egg filling!

Burrata -- the world's creamiest, yummiest cheese
Or, on the sweet side:
Soft, custardy bread pudding, or pretty much any kind of pudding...
Tres leches cake (preferably spiked with rum)

greek yogurt, buffalo mozzarella, a fried egg (with the yolk still raw and creamy), rice pudding, tiramisu ... clearly, I love my dairy products!

Key lime pie comes to mind!

Cream of Wheat or a velvety Mac and Cheese... and for dessert, a Soft & Creamy soft serve ice cream. They're sold only here in Puerto Rico. It's the BEST soft serve ice cream ever!!!!!!!

Greek yogurt with honey & dried fruit ... Ben and Jerry's (ridiculously creamy, no? Sometimes the ultra-rich ice creams tick me off; I mean, it's easy to make something delicious if you pump it with 24 grams of fat in one half cup!) ... Ricotta, straight out of tub ... and my secret shame, Laughing Cow cheese. There's something terrific about it although it scares me that it never need be refrigerated!

I'm ashamed to admit it too, but macaroni and cheese. So creamily amazing. I also love cheese dips from Qdoba for chips. That gives me creamy and crunchy at the same time!

Chew on That

Lemon meringue pie sounds good right now...
