Top Chef finale tonight! Casey, Dale or Hung?

Who is your pick for top chef?
We are pulling for Dale here. His admission that he gave up cooking before the show invited him and now was his turning point was just the piece of the puzzle I needed.

I'm pulling for Dale, too. He can cook, and has heart to go along with his skills. Hung bothers me: He's a safety hazard, for one thing, and can never accept the fact that something he made isn't the best of its kind ever tasted . It's always the judge in question's "average palate" or some other condescending nonsense. Casey: I've never recovered from seeing her chop onions.

I'm pulling for Dale, though I like all of the remaining contestants on one level or another. Hung is definitely the most arrogant of the bunch, but Casey and Dale aren't perfect.

Overall, Dale has been the little ray of sunshine of the lot. And his comment about not having cooked for lots of cowboys, but instead he had "slept with a few" really cracked me up last week.

Go Dale! :) We're rooting for our fellow Hawkeye!

Here's an article that ran in the U of Iowa's paper today.

Thanks for the link, bygnerd. Good stuff.

I like Dale, and think he is talented. Hung has talent, but he is not pleasant. But I want Casey to win. She has talent, I like her, she is a chef in Brooklyn, and I would love to see a woman win(sorry!). But to be honest, my gut is telling me it's Dale.

Casey!!! She's fantastic and it would be great to see a girl win.

I'd be happy to see Casey or Dale win.

If you think about it, none of the finalists this season have had a lot of resounding success throughout, which is why the judging methods of this show prove to be more and more flawed. Hung and Dale have each only had one elimination win (Casey has had two), but all of those within the last few episodes as the pool thinned. So essentially all three managed to fly under the radar for most of the competition, while some of the strongest contestants were ousted too early on the basis of a single challenge.

In the absence of Tre, I'm rooting for Casey who, by the way, is not a chef in Brooklyn, but in Dallas, at an excellent restaurant. I like Dale but he has seemed inconsistent; and Hung may be technically talented but doesn't really seem to have a personality that comes out in his cooking. He's young, though, so maybe this will come along with some maturity eventually.

As long as Hung doesn't win, it's all good to me.

I thought the purpose of this was to find the best chef not the best personality so if the title of the show holds true I would suspect Hung is the most qualified regardless of how much of an asshole he is. I think if it were not a competition Hung would be a whole different character.

Sawyerriley, Casey is over eighteen, and is not a girl, but a woman. Or, you could refer to Dale and Hung as boys, which I daresay would never occur to you. Sexism continues to rule. Sigh.

Andy Cohen's blog has some nice teasers from the finale. The judge's table ran until 4am in the morning!

Live from Chicago. It's on. Pretty neat.

"she is a chef in Brooklyn"

Is Casey really a chef in Brooklyn? Or are you thinking of Camilla?

I wish I could have gone to the live reveal! I'm from Chicago! :(

Not that I want to spoil anything for those who haven't seen it yet, but I felt REALLY bad for Casey. I'm ok with the winner, but she was great the whole season; always classy.

Casey is most definitely from Dallas. I would have loved to see her win, would have settled for Dale, and mad as hell that it was Hung.
