The holidays are coming...what is your favorite beverage?

I go for hot chocolate on Halloween. Then Thanksgiving thru the New Year, I like the grocery store "custard-style" cartons of eggnog. Occasionally order one of those gingerbread or eggnog lattes at the coffee shop. What do you sip on during the winter holidays?

eggnog and hot cider, hot chocolate goes well with snowy mornings.

When the temps drop and I pray for snow, I switch from my usual Earl Grey in the morning to hot apple cider. We buy it from a local orchard and mull it with spices. I sometimes add a splash of Maker's Mark to get the day started;-)

I hate Starbucks, but I'm a sucker for their pumpkin spice lattes and frappacinos.

Other than those, I looove apple cider (both cold and hot - with Maker's or Gosling's black seal rum) and a good cup of masala chai.

It's beer season! I look forward to the spiced ales of the holiday season most of all. Anchor Steam Christmas Ale, Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. I'm enjoying lots of Oktoberfest and Pumpkin ales right now.

Spiced Apple Cider

Apple Juice (I prefer clear juice for this)
Brown Sugar
Cinnamon Sticks
Orange Halves (zig zag cut) into which cloves have been stuck
(Rum - Optional for adults)

Love to have this stuff simmering as guests are arriving for T-Giving Dinner. You can also keep it in a crock pot.

Mulled cider - thanks for the reminder, must stock up! - with or without a shot of bourbon. I've also been known to buy a quart of pre-made eggnog to use in coffee, and I suppose it would work in tea as well, for that matter.

Different kinds of hot chocolate, though my super favorite would be Tsokolate from the Philippines (made with the awesome tableas, half and half, evaporated milk and crushed peanuts). There's nothing better than buttery pan-de-sal and Tsokolate.

I like mexican hot chocolate too, with the hint of cinnamon and spices. MNN.

A good post-meal amaro to cut through the clog.

I make this great puerto rican drink called coquito. I take the Wawa eggnog (custardy store bought) and add a can of trader joe's coconut milk, cinnamon and nutmeg and Bacardi rum. It is so good you will love it. Be careful of the rum because as good as it is it sneaks up on you.

hot chocolate is my first choice, then the caramel apple cider (no whipped cream) from Starbucks and third choice is just a nice steaming mug of good old Lipton.

Hot spiced cider is nothing better in the chilly winter months for me. In the crock pot is a perfect way to go when having people over as it won't take up a burner spot on the stove :)

I second the caramel apple cider from Starbucks--I have no objection to the whipped cream though.

I'm also a fan of apple pie shots (apple juice, vodka, whipped cream).

I like eggnog, eggnog lattes, pumpkin spice mochas and Tom and Jerry batter. My dad used to make it for Christmas every year -- whipped egg whites, powdered sugar, folded in beaten egg yolks. Put a scoop in a mug, add boiling water, rum and nutmeg. So good.

Hot chocolate with milk and spices.
I look forward to the cinnamon dolce lattes at Starbucks! The pumpkin spice lattes are pretty good too.

Tom and Jerry's....mmmm....

Gingerbread lattes or Hot Apple Cider! Sooo delicious.

Chew on That

Eggnog on the rocks spiked with burbon, brandy, or rum-equal parts booze to nog. A little x-tra nutmeg grated on top.
This really can sneak up quickly. But it is so damn good.

A cold glass of eggnog. There's nothing like thick cream sliding down your throat. Yum.

Hot chocolate with a little freshly grated nutmeg

hot chocolate! made with milk only, never water, and topped with whippped cream. but i'm also a sucker for my father's "killer" eggnog, made with canadian whiskey.

Thanksgiving = Bourbon and eggnog, maker's mark to be exact
Christmas = Mocha or more eggnog
New Year's = champagne and momosas

Nothing compliments a wool sweater like a dark, chewy beer.

a hot cup of gluhwein at the christmas market in stuttgart to wash down a rotwurst mit brotchen.

Hot mulled apple cider
