Thanksgiving! (In Canada, It's This Weekend)

How are all of my fellow canadians celebrating thanksgiving this upcoming weekend? I'll be having two dinners with family and friends, and going the fair!

My husband and I and a friend are planning to start with apple pie and a bottle of Condrieu. Then heading out for dosas for dinner. And then give thanks to David Cronenburg by watching Eastern Promises!

I'm sad because our plans do not include turkey this year! My aunt is making chicken, because my uncle is allergic to turkey. I may have to make a turkey breast for my husband and I next weekend, because I really need my fix of turkey and stuffing!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

i am american, but i celebrate every year with my canadian transplant friends in Brooklyn. We have a big pot luck dinner with turkey and all the other requisite items.

Thanksgiving weekend is not just for turkey in my family. The second Monday in Oct also signals apple picking time. For some reason in my neck of the woods it is hard to find mutsu (crispin) apples in the grocery store. So every year I stock up at the apple orchard.

I always forget its thanksgiving in Canada, I've been away from home for so long it took my American girlfriend to remind me that its thanksgiving at home.
