Help with a new blender ...
I currently have the WARING blender...and I really do not like it....ANY THOUGHTS about the Breville? There are two models , and I really do not understand the difference...What do you think? Is it just expensive, but worth it?? Any other blender that you think I might consider?? Thanks, I hate buying and being disappointed!!!!!!

You might try a Blendtec. I first encountered their brand on YouTube, because their advertising is insane -- they put household items into their blender, ask the question "Will it blend?" and then proceed to turn things like iPods into dust.
Crazy advertising notwithstanding, I know someone who owns one and he loves it. I'm pretty happy with my KitchenAid as well.

ConsumerSearch has a good, current overview...

Cooks Illustrated has one from 2005 that still seems reliable...

One observation -- the reviewers complain about wide-base jars not getting all the food pureed. I've never encountered that problem with my Cuisinart, but then I don't make pesto. I do have the Oster beehive, too. It's powerful and works well, but I always have trouble with funnel-shape jars getting clogged. Just a thought...
