Food grinder: uses?
I am so fortunate to have received a Kitchen Aid stand mixer for my recent birthday (I'm completely goo goo ga ga over it) -- it also came with a rebate for a food grinder attachment. I rarely eat meat so can you all throw out some other uses for a food grinder?

I used mine for making jams without seeds. Which means you also need the strainer. It also works well for making crushed tomatoes.
The strawberry, blackberry and any kind of berry you can imagine jams and jellies are nice. The clean up is not great. The strainer, hopper and grinder are a B* to clean. No tossing in the dishwasher.
Nothing ventured et al.

My grandfather used his to make green tomato relish and my mom used hers for baby food...

I grew up with a manual grinder, and still own one - although there is literally NO place into this house I married into that I can clamp it down. My mother used one for egg salad, ham salad, and so on. I used it for chopped liver, and something else that has slipped out of my brain, it's been so long since I used it.

I'm not sure it's the same attachment, but the old Oster mixmaster I grew up with had a meat grinder attachment that was used, pretty much exclusively, to make relish.

I always used mine in my restaurant to grind pork. It's only in the last ten years you can get plain ground pork without being pressured to buy bulk sausage.
I'd probably be tempted to try it for ground tomatoes. Careful of a squirty mess!

at my house we use the food grinder to make cranberry relish for thanksgiving - nothing but fresh cranberries, an orange (peel and all), and sugar to taste. i imagine it would also be handy for nuts and meat though...
