What's Worse???

in regards to food....

Lets say your on a date....

Whats worse: Your date orders their
A) fillet well done
B) Asks for the A1

Answer my question and also post an "What's worse" question of you own....

22 Comments:

well done.

What's worse???

A)cheese whiz
B)velveeta

I say A-1...although either of them could be a dealbreaker.

Well done and cheeze whiz. At least you can make Rotel dip with Velveeta.

What's worse?
A. cheap fast food
B. disappointing meal at a high priced restaurant

I think a disappointing meal at a high priced restaurant is one of the worst things....i know from experience. At least with fast food you know what to expect.

I think filet well done is terrible, then i can't have a bite. i hate A-1 but my man loves it on his meat. i prefer peter luger/hot sauce combo. probably just as bad.

velveeta all the way. cheese wiz....makes me think of sleep away camp when i was a kid.

what's worse? 1. someone who hates eating out 2. someone who hates cooking

well done is the deal breaker.
cheese whiz is worse
and cheap fast food isnt even on my radar.

well done is bad. a1 can be used to suffer through a less-than-tasty steak, in which case i would be able to forgive her indiscretion.

Well done is great for people who prefer not to see blood in their meat. Bloody meat is just so caveman. If I wanted blood, I wouldn't bother cooking meat. I'd buy a hunk from the deli and my dog and I would fight over it on the kitchen floor while the blood is flying and the sinew is ripping. Ah, that sounds so lovely. Doesn't it?

I have no comment on the meat issue - if my date ordered a steak in the first place, I'd realize I was in for an uphill battle. Velveeta is way better than Cheez Whiz, for the Ro-Tel dip reason cited above.

And! I would far prefer someone who hates eating out to someone who hates cooking. While I enjoy a meal out once in awhile, I far prefer cooking at home for reasons of taste, health, and cost. Whether or not it's true, I'd probably assume that someone who hates cooking (and therefore only eats meals out) doesn't care about health or economy.

Which is worse? Slow but gracious restaurant service, or efficient and impersonal restaurant service?

I'd rather have slow but gracious service. Amiableness can cure many ills.

What's worse than the original options?

I'd say:
1. If my dinner companion complained about the meal the whole time.
2. If my dinner companion tipped poorly.

what's worse.
Your date orders a white zinfandel.
Or basically orders off of a kids menu cause she doesnt like nornal grown up food?

oh and by the way A

What's worse:

Global warming
Macrame
Coolwhip
The misuse of apostrophes

...not necesssarily in that order

Well done. Oh, & Cheez Whiz, Global Warming & Cool Whip are all the absolute worst things in the world! I actually use A1 in my bloody mary's. Plus, my husband could mainline the stuff, so I can't say that's worse.

Good post idea!

I think: well done is worse than A-1, cheeze whiz is worse than velveeta, a disappointing high-priced meal is worse, kids menu is worse than white zinfandel, not tipping is worse than complaining, and the misuse of apostrophes is the worst of anything!

For the restaurant service one, I'm stumped. I hate ingraciousness, but there is a lot to be said for efficiency. I'm going to say the ingracious but efficient is worse though.

My question - For the same price:
1. A tiny unfilling portion of a meal you like
2. A giant and filling portion of a meal you don't like

Hillary
Chew on That

Here are my worsts:
Well-done steaks
Cheez Whiz
High priced bad meal
Cooking hater
Slow/gracious vs. quick but impersonal is a toss up. Depends on my mood!
Complaining companion, I could make up the difference of the tip but not stop the bitching
Kids menu
global warming and apostrophe misuse
Giant, filling bad meal

Which is worse when dining out?
A.) Disappointing entree
B.) Disappointing dessert

I vote B. If dessert is good at least you're ending the meal on a high note.
Fab post, btw.

This thing keeps on growing!

Here's my choices:
Well-done steaks
Cheez whiz
High priced bad meal
Someone who refuses to cook
I'm quite used to quick and impersonal service...its not so bad unless the server is blatantly not doing their job. So this one is hard to say which is worse because I don't mind either choice!
Complaining companion, definitely.
Kid's menu...I cringe at the thought...
Cool whip! So artificial! (I think I'm averted to any processed product with "Whip" in the name...)
Giant, filling bad meal

Disappointing entree...I don't usually go for dessert, so if the entree was bad, then it does a lot to ruin the experience as a whole.

Which is worse?
A) Someone who refuses to try food on principle of it (ie: it's the innards of an animal, thus its gross and bad)
B) Someone who, when going out to eat is very finicky and precise about how their food is cooked and presented to them

Ok...
well done
cheese whiz
cheap fast food
hates eating out (I don't mind cooking, as long as they appreciate it)
If its nice restaurant with good food and a good ambiance then slow is ok, so I guess I would say fast is worse...
complaining for sure
kids menu
I'm gonna go with global warming
this one is difficult... I'll go with entree because I rarely get dessert
Also a difficult one... I guess the finicky eater because it bothers so many people besides me (like the waitstaff and the cooks)

Which is worse:
A. Someone who is always hovering while you cook and constantly adding their two cents about what you should be doing
B. Someone who seasons their food first without tasting it (adding salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc.)

O and for the refuses food on principle vs. finicky eater question, I think that people who are so finicky about their food aren't going to be an adventurous eater anyway, so they really aren't any fun

My Polish GF always orders whatever it is "well done"

I once without her knowing what it was got her to eat carpaccio :-)

Well done.

What's worse?

A) Eating dinner at Jack in the Box with your ex-husband
B) Eating a steak & shrimp dinner with your best friend who slept with your ex-husband?

My answer? C

(For jaf: my answer for what's worse? #2 --- someone who hates cooking)

A-1, well done & butterflied is PERFECT for people like me who aren't fans of blood & have spent a LOT of time around cattle (they are messy).

cheez whiz, I am a rotel addict.

expensive meal, I expect cheap fast food to be icky, not a fine dining experience that I have wheedled into my small budget

hates eating out (Oh the horror!)

fast impersonal, ick.

BOTH poor tipping & complaining

kids meal

apostrophe abuse

giant bad meal

bad entree

I AM finicky (have food allergies too so I'm NOT kidding when I say no tomatoes please!!!) & I am paying for what I order, so adjust. I do tip well as a result of my 'difficulty'.

seasons first, just taste it!

wow, both are bad, a perfect time to make rotel alone!

What is worse?
A) being served the wrong order
B) wishing you had been
