Road food between New Orleans and Baton Rouge
I'm flying into New Orleans the first week of October and driving to Baton Rouge. Does anyone know of any regional road food stops along the way?

How much time do you have in New Orleans? I can give you some ideas if you're staying in the city for at least a few hours. I don't know too much about BR.

It's been probably 8 years since I've been there, but I remember Middendorf's at Pass Manchac being a great place for fried catfish. If you are taking I-10 to BR, take the I-55 exit north once you get beyond Lake Pontchartrain. The restaurant is between Lake Pontchartrain & Lake Maurepas. You can find reviews of Middendorf's all over the web.

Thanks so much. It's definitely on my list. Catherine

Outside of Baton Rouge, not quite between the 2 is Joe's Dreyfus General Store in Livonia. Joe's moved on, haven't been there since he left, but I doubt the new owners would have done anything to ruin the place.
