Cheese Budget? How much money do you spend per week on cheese?
I think I spend an inordinate amount so I am curious to hear what others spend, specify how many in your family..

$3 to $5. It's just me. My girlfriend is a vegan, my roommate is an oaf, and I work too many odd hours to really ever entertain guests at my house in a way other than shotgunning cheap beer and eating a cold Zuni-style roast chicken leg.

I spend different amounts, depending on the week. We eat cheese alone or in salads mostly. I would estimate I average $15-20 @wk.

I spend between $5 and $20 per week, depending on how many people are eating. By the way, for a cheese plate of 5-6 cheeses, I figure between 0.5-0.75 oz. per person per cheese. That's about 1/8 to 1/3 pound total per person. If you figure that (good) cheese is about $15 per pound on average, then each person costs about $2.50-$4.50.

Totally depends on what's being made that week, but I'd say I've never spent more than $10 a week on cheese....

$25 +/-. And prices have gone waaay up recently. I'm going to have to cut back.

~$15 on the average.

It depends...I tend to buy cheeses in spurts. There is only 2 of us and my husband cannot eat cheese at this point, so it's only me. I will buy 2 or 3 cheeses and enjoy over a week or two. I probably spend about $12 -$15.

I spend a minimum of $20 and it is often just my 4 year old and me since my husband travels frequently. I am trying to only buy cheese from the greenmarket but will buy Cabot Cheddar from the supermarket if desperate and locally made mozzarella. I think I spend more on dairy products than anything else.

Cheese is not a weekly purchase for me. I always have a block of parmesan in the fridge, and if I'm going through a sandwich phase I'll have some sliced cheese on hand, but I can't say I buy it every week. However, this is based on me living alone. I'm moving in with my boyfriend next week so between the two of us I can see cheese becoming a weekly purchase. I would try and keep the cheese budget to around $5-$8 per week.

being Wisconsin-ites living in North Carolina - we'd actually spend MORE on cheese if better cheese was available... be that as it may - I'd say our weekly cheese budget runs $10 - 20 depending on what's on the menu that week...
