Are there any foods you're ashamed to love?

I'm not ashamed of food by any means mostly but recently I was tagged in a meme asking me: "What five foods are you ashamed to love?" It was interesting and tough, but I came up with:
Bagel Bites
Burnt cookies
PB&J sandwiches
Fast Food
Tempura sushi

What would you say?

38 Comments:

Rotel dip = Velveeta cheese + Rotel tomatoes.
Ramen Noodles

cheetos (crunchy!)
Pringles potato chips
A-1 sauce (never on steak, though)

ramen.. and not the "gourmet" japanese version with the 5 packets of seasoning/vegetables/soup base. my guilty pleasure is the top ramen you buy 10 for a buck (i hide them in the back of the pantry).

torino's pizza bites.

Burnt cookies..not so much. But give me burnt bacon and popcorn anytime!!

Cheap canned sardines of any kind ... but they're even better if canned in mustard sauce or Louisiana hot sauce.

I remembered another...those Jalapeno Poppers stuffed with Cream Cheese...YUM! Am I ashamed? Nah!!!

Grilled cheese sandwiches made with American Cheese - or as my husband says, "cheese food." Has to be on white bread and served with Campbell's tomato soup. Nothing better on a rainy day.

My wife and my weekend food-vice is Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. But we dress it up with Wochestershire Sauce (and Tabasco as well for me) which gives it a very interesting twist.

Still shameful though.

Hehe love the responses everyone! Keep them coming!

Oh, and don't make fun of my love for burnt cookies, hehe. I like regular cookies too!

Chew on That

My ex used to call Velveeta "plastic cheese." Pretty apt! Does that stop me from the rotel-velveeta dip extravaganza? Nah. Guilt? Too old for that.

pecan log rolls from Stuckey's

Pop Tarts...got to have them about once a year...it's a childhood thing

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and not prepared according to the package directions. Boil the macaroni and add about half a stick of butter (reall butter). Then add the powdered cheese stuff. Then add only enough milk to make the mac and cheese creamy but not runny. Can you tell I've perfected this method? Then eat the entire - yes, the entire - pot.

I second:
Totino's pizza rolls
Velveeta & Rotel cheese dip
10 for $1.00 ramen noodle soups

I will then add:
frozen fish sticks
McDonald's & Taco Bell
mac-n-cheese (made with Velveeta)
potato cheese soup (made with Velveeta)

hmmm...maybe anything made with Velveeta?

Trader joes veggie corn dogs, kraft cheese slices, tootsie rolls.

I second the Kraft Mac & Cheese and I am going to try QScoop's alternative method, it sounds good.

Cold leftovers- I will eat anything straight from the fridge if it is a leftover. The day after Thanksgiving is like a party for me!

Kraft macaroni and cheese, a little on the soupy side. This is heaven to me. I can't agree more about Pop Tarts--especially the cinnamon and brown sugar ones! Many of my other guilty pleasures are cereals intended for kids: Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix, REESE'S PUFFS!!!, etc.

Speaking of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, on occasion I have enjoyed a bowl of that wonderful, crispy concoction with a strong white russian in place of milk. Maybe I'm a lush but this is far tastier (and naughtier) than a bloody mary or screwdriver for Sunday brunch.

Popcorn and potatoes with liberal applications of butter spray (I drive people so nuts with the butter spray that I've taken to eating my butter spray applicables furtively)
Rice-a-Roni & SPAM
Lucky Charms
Pork Rinds
Velveeta
Arby's Melts
Chocolate (not ashamed of it insomuch as the quantities of it I eat)

Taco Bell, ramen noodles, Kraft mac and cheese (I also eat the whole package...straight from the pot. YUM.)

homemade rice krispie treats... the whole pan.

White Castle sliders
corned beef hash
shake and bake
Oh, I am so ashamed...

Burger King double cheese burger
Velveeta shells n cheese

shake and bake pork chops rule!
the "pope's nose" on a chicken
PBR

Definitely Nissan "Top Ramen" ramen noodles! I mortify myself whenever I eat them (which has not been in a long time, I swear!).

cheap, trashy sweets... orange, lemon and grape heads, atomic fireballs, lik em ade, wonka nerds, tear jerkers, war head sour spray, sugar babies, sour skittles, pop rocks!

I am not ashamed to love any food, though people have often tried to make me feel as if I should be.

There are two top foods on my own list that have left various people gasping for air and in paroxyms of utter contempt of my love.

The first is Franco-American canned spaghetti. Yes, I love it. Why? Because my mother often gave it to me, and though it was not home-made, it came from her and it was meant to nourish me as best she could.

The second is Twinkies. I love Twinkies just because they are Twinkies. They need no excuse. They even have a fabulous name.

Just remember, "Love means never having to say you're sorry." :)

Raspberry Zingers -- they're a twinkie knockoff with some sort of raspberry-esque jelly spread all over them and then rolled in coconut. I can down a 3-pack in about five seconds flat. I never, ever want to know what they're made of.

Just about anything from Frito-Lay, jalepeno spice almonds from am/pm, ice cream drum sticks, and sandwich/creme cookies. For the most part, I try to hold my head up high and work through the shame of enjoying unhealthy, trashy snacks.

aforementioned: Kraft mac and cheese
the kid-centric sugar cereals (good call!)
and the very soft sugar cookies with 1/2" of frosting in supermarket bakery :)

Spam, especially fried with eggs!

Hehe, nice answers everyone!

I will have to say Vienna Sausages in that disgusting jelly. I have been so ashamed of my love for them I haven't bought or eaten them since jr. high...that is true shame.

-Another vote for Kraft Mac n' Cheese :-)
-Ramen noodles topped off with Hunt's (ALWAYS!) tomato sauce and a ridiculous amount of powdered parmesan cheese
-The Castle

*whipers* SPAM. Oh man, I love that stuff, but am so embarrased to buy at the store. I fry it till crisp on the outside, and eat it with rice, eggs with still-runny-yolks, and chopped tomatoes on the side. I mix it all together in a large bowl and eat (a spoon as the preferrred instrument) in front of the TV.
