Apples Galore: What to Do With Them?

I've bought some really delicious Gala apples and I'm not sure what to do with them. I live in a college dorm, so my supplies and equipment are limited, and I don't want to make apple pie, crisp, or applesauce. Any suggestions? :)

How about baked apple slices? Just peel and core the apples, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and, put in the microwave for a few minutes until cooked. Serve plain or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Caramel apples! If you don't want to make your own caramel, you can always melt those little Kraft caramels in the microwave.

If you're up for something more involved, try this apple cake, which everyone loved when I made it last fall.

If you have a toaster oven and a microwave you can make apple tarts.
Get some pie dough or puff pastry.
Take your apples and peel and slice into slices (not too thick nor too thin). Take the apples, toss with a couple of squeezes of lemon juice, tablespoon of your fav sugar and a pinch of salt and cinnamon, set aside.
Take your semi thawed puff pastry or pie dough(make sure they are not fully thawed) and use a coffee mug or glass to cut out rounds. Use the same coffee mug or glass to flatten them out a little bit.
Take your apples and pop them into the microwave for 2 mins to precook them just a bit. Make sure to cover with plastic wrap so the juice does not escape and dry them out. If they dry up too much hit it with another dash of lemon juice.
In the microwave melt half a stick of butter. Put the rounds on the tray (with foil or parchment) brush with butter lightly, top with apples and then fold the ends around the sides to hold the juice and look pretty.
You bake these for about 17-20ish mins till brown and bubbly.
The smell will be amazing.

stuffed pork loin?

Saute the apples in butter and some sugar, and put them on pancakes, waffles or French toast(All of which can be bought frozen).
Use them in salads(endive, gruyere, avocado, dried cranberries)
Add to a store bought muffin or cake mix
cranberry/apple casserole(raw cranberries, diced apples,sugar, with a brown sugar,melted butter,chopped pecan and oatmeal topping-cook at 350 for 45 minutes)

You could batter them, roll them in crushed cereal (your choice, but cap'n crunch would be fun) and deep fry them.

I like shredding apples and putting them in some plain, whole milk yogurt with blueberries, ground flax seed, and a little bit Alpen brand muesli. Then you let it sit for like 15 minutes so the muesli absorbs a bit before eating. It can sit overnight too. I think that is pretty dorm friendly, and it's very filling and easy to make if you need a late night study snack!

I'm not wild about cooked apples, except for pie (which I like with a cheddar crust).

Otherwise, I slice them, measure out an equal number of bites of sharp cheddar: breakfast or a good snack.

Thanks for the ideas, guys! I kept them in my cabinet, forgot about them, and then when I re-opened the cabinet, the apple perfume was so strong that I couldn't help myself and just gorged on them raw. Mmm! One plus for New York over Texas! The apples are (usually) better!
