Restaurant delivery receipts: Why don't I get them in NYC?
What's the story with delivery men from certain restaurants retaining the receipts for my orders? I've found Totonno's and several other Upper East Side places won't turn them over even upon request. Is something nefarious going on, i.e., hiding revenue, or is the explanation more mundane? Am I the only one who's had this experience?

Don't know either, but I've had the same experience.

I've had to force places a few times because my job basically requires that we get receipts for anything we spend, but I never know why its so hard. I would guess though that once in a while yoy get a delivery guy who adds on a dollar here and there...its always good to check the menu if you're unsure.
