Growing up in the 50's, my mom would make a pitcher of cherry or grape Kool-Aid when playmates came over. Lemonade was reserved for family reunion picnics. Once a year, on New Year's Eve at the stroke of midnight, we were allowed 7-Up. Milk was always poured & on the table each meal. We drank water from the garden house while playing outside.
