No Reservations - new season!

What, no recaps for one of the best travel and food shows ever? This time Anthony Bourdain travels to Shanghai, China, and looks for Shangri-La. I really liked that he got to go out of Shanghai and see the life of some of China's ethnic minorities, which I admit I know nothing about. I'm already looking forward to the next show. What are your thoughts?

Love Love Love Tony!!! I am reading Kitchen Confidential right now and just loving it. If you haven't read it, it's in paperback and has updated material. I am mystified and in awe of someone so articulate and yet insane.

I loved when he went fishing with the comorants. And yak butter everything. I adore that guy.

Oh Yes yes yes!! AB is one of my favs...as is The Travel Channel...so interesting, so educational--people, places' cultures.

Yes Yes Yes!! I have A B in my book as an everlasting fav ! as is The Travel Channel. It is so interesting, informative, and educational...people, places and cultures. Rivals PBS!!

LOVE "No Reservations," but not nearly as much as I love Tony himself. He's brilliant, not to mention completely hilarious. I'm so excited for this new season and a chance to see him every week! =)

Tony is brilliant, indeed! That was a great 1st ep...and it has me even more excited about his apparent upcoming trip to Brasil!!! I definitely can't wait for that one!!

I have been trying to locate the old episode where Bourdain, Eric Ripert, and somebody else, get a private meal from Thomas Keller at The French Laundry.

Anybody have a link or suggestion to that specific episode?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bosmer, I tried looking for that episode, but I couldn't find it, either, and it doesn't appear to be in their Season 1 DVD or on Amazon Unbox. I don't know what the deal is, but they would be selling a lot more of the DVDs if 1. they included all the episodes for that season, and 2. included some of the special features we are all used to! Commentary, outtakes, etc. My favorite episode, though, was the one where he went to Beirut.

Oops, actually if I remember correctly the French Laundry episode happened on "A Cook's Tour", the original Food Network show. And as far as I know, no one has any plans to release DVDs on it, although sometimes there are reruns on Food Network. If you have a TiVo or DVR you should be able to create a search for it.
