Is your kitchen green (environmentally friendly)?
I was at the Nature Museum last weekend and they had this awesome exhibit called the Extreme Green house where everything in the house was made to be environmentally friendly from the bathrooms to of course, the kitchen!
I'm wondering if anyone out there tries to be green in the kitchen....what things do you consciously do in your kitchen to help out the environment?

i do the usual recycling, and recently started a compost bin as my neighbor has a compost pile. this has greatly reduced the amount of trash i throw out. i also bought some envirosax (huge reusable grocery bags).
it's a start.

In process...I have been using string bags and reusing plastic for groceries or I simply stuff unbagged food inside my granny cart. I also bought cotton fine-meshed bags for veggies. I use unbleached waxed paper bags for wrapping, as well as waxed paper. I recycle all glass and plastic but the next step is to try to rid my kitchen of plastic containers and replace with glass. I would also like to compost but the vision of flies buzzing about my mil's compost catcher instills fear in me..
