How I can control my overindulgent tendencies?
I think I love food too much. I want to a taste (or more) of everything around me. At home, at restaurants, at my part time job as a catering server, when I'm bored and when I'm busy. Any tips?

Try a handful of almonds -- they have plenty of good fiber, protein and good fat to keep you full.
Also, sniffing orange or lemon zest staves off hunger.

Drink lots of fresh water and munch on carrot or celery sticks sans ranch dip. During a break, take a brisk walk and suck in that gut; if you are chained to the caterer's table and overcome with cravings, go ahead and sample the fare, but just a taste, please. Moderation is the key.

Shredded wheat. Before I go to wegmans I eat shredded wheat or oatmeal. Fills you up and then you don't indulge as much. Almonds or walnuts are another good source of fiber and flavinoids. Apple or pear i also more good fiber and filling. Do you drink coffee?

live to eat----i feel your pain. i am the same way. i love snacking. i'll eat a whole meal and continue to snack. same goes for the day time. i'm always nibbling. i try to nibble on healthy foods but it doesn't always work out. my weakness is chips and salsa. the only way to not over indulge is to stay busy. it is hard i know. let me know if you find any good solutions.

If you must eat a little bit of everything, take this strategy from my super-thin mother: eat one or two small bites of the things you want to taste, and eat them slowly so you can enjoy the flavor. This way, you can experience everything around you without feeling like you need to eat an entire serving of everything.

food porn! look at pictures of food, imagine myself eating them, then go to bed dreaming about them. haha~ it makes me hungry, but at least it sort of satiates

Food porn is definitely a hobby for me. That's why I joined Serious Eats! I'm working on being a more mindful snacker, so thanks everyone! It's just difficult with a desk job in an office full of candy dishes... I'll take it one day at a time.

LiveToEat, I can definitely sympathize! My coworkers are constantly bringing in snacks to share, because we look at food all day!
I wouldn't consider myself too much of an overindulger but if I have a craving for something, I'll spoil myself and let my body have what it wants (if available somehow and not terribly expensive.) Not sure how to unspoil myself, so if anyone has any advice about that, let me know...
The orange or lemon zest tip sounds great if it works!

I've come to accept my food loving tendencies but I have learned to eat one or two bites to taste and then stop. I've also learned to love running and to love the curves! I will NEVER be skinny but my doc says I'm at least healthy!

I love food. But as lauren said above- learn to love running :) I am an exercise fanatic and count horseriding, cycling and marathon running as hobbies. This is how I stay 45kg (yea, i'm tiny) and still get to indulge in glorious food ^^
