Favorite Brand and Flavor of Potato Chips?

Mine might have to be garlic and onion by Wise...but those honey mustard ones from Kettle Chips are darn good too!

your opinion?

I like "Kettle Chips" but they can be VERY hard on the gums. I know it's gonna sound 'typical' but I love the good ol' Ruffles for my tater chips...they have a nice crunch and the pair up well with about any dip you can dream up. Ohhhhhhhhhh don't get me started on my homemade onion dip. ;)

i can't pick one, so these are my favorites: utz carolina bbq or maryland crab, bouldar sea salt and cracked pepper or plain terrell's with some helluva good dip.

Wizdom brand Wasabi flavored chips found in Hong Kong. Every time we go there, I pack a light vinyl bag to bring back about 30 bags (only single serving) - In the lower pressure of a 777 cabin, they expand the bag like a balloon. Surprised me the first time I got a hankering for a bag somewhere over Alaska. Wizdom also makes good curry and kim-chi versions as well.

Stateside - for plain chips, basic Cape Cod, followed by Herr's Kettle Cooked. Great with Heluva Bacon Horseradish dip.

Stateside - for flavored, Herr's Salt & Vinegar.

Surprised me as better than expected, but not on a regular basis. - Herr's Ketchup flavor.

I like Zapp's various flavors of chips if I want a "hearty" potato chip experience. Otherwise, Ruffles for dips or Lay's for stuffing my face.

In North America: Sour Cream n Onion. An oldie but a goodie.
In the UK: Walker's Sensation's Roast Chicken with Lemon and Thyme

In Western Canada, Old Dutch makes a "taco" flavoured tortilla chip that is probably the best of all.

Utz's Maryland Crab, which I only used to be able to get at the NJ shore, but is now available in my neighborhood. There's a killer roquefort chip out there, too, but I don't remember who makes it.

Kettle's Thai Spice (or whatever they're called). SO tasty!

I'm in love with Terra's Yukon Gold Potato Chips. Dipped in some ketchup, they're fantastic!

I agree with the Thai spice Kettle's chips... and back home in Canada Old Dutch Jalepeno and Cheddar are my all time favorite ever. And the cravings begin.

Tim's Cascade Style Alder Smoked chips - apparently they're only available in the northwest these days. I'm also quite fond of Kettle Chips Chipotle Chili Barbeque, but I think this flavor may have been discontinued.

I like Zapp's Cajun Crawtators, and
Kettle's Sea Salt and Vinegar for flavor, but I'll take a bag of Cape Cod originals for crunch anyday.

Dieffenbachs from Womelsdorf, PA. Cooked in Lard and Mmmmmm so tasty. You can order them here

Walkers Sweet Thai Chili

Salt & Pepper Yukon Gold Terra Chips taste just like a good baked potato to me... on the less fancy side, I go for Utz Cheddar and Sour Cream or the their wavy chips, plain; Bachman's Golden Ridges, from New England, are also great. Barbara's Yogurt and Green Onion. Zapp's dill chips. When I need a very small fix, though, a 1/2-oz bag of Utz plain chips are just fine.

In Canada, I like Lay's Ketchup chips (even though the color reminds me of dried blood) - Herr's in the US makes ketchup flavor, too, but they're not quite as good.

Kettle Chips' Roasted Red Pepper and Goat Cheese... Oh my lord! It's everything you'd ever want in a chip!

Nothing can compare with Martin's Kettle Cook'd Potato Chips. They're not distributed nationally, but they can be found in East central Pennsylvania. They're in a plain white bag with red letters. www.martinschips.com

I know that Kettle makes "Balsamic Vinegar & Sea Salt" Chips", but there's an organic brand at my store...DOH! can't remember the name, but they are pretty fantastic.

I also remember the first time I ever ate Cape Cod chips, they are dang yummy too...

Is there anyone who like the Dill Pickle flavor of chips? I think they are vile.

Um, in college, I ate a LOT of Chili Cheese Fritos. Very tasty, but very hard on the waistline AND heart. Don't mock me. I know they're not "potato" chips, but jeez.

Kettle Chips brand - Thai flavor. Also, big thumbs up for the Cheddar Beer flavor.

Cape Cod brand - Jalapeno Cheddar. Awesomely delicious.

I'd also like to second the Walker's Roast Chicken flavored crisps. Yummy!

Zapp's Crawtaters

If you get a box lunch at Honey Baked Ham, they offer a great chip--Cape Cod--I think. For dipping, Ruffels is a plus. And for every day snacking or go with anything and everything chip, you cant beat good ol' greasy Jay's. Lays-- any kind runs a close second 'tho.

I'm a fan of kettle chips.

I also love Terra Red Bliss Olive Oil, Roasted Garlic & Parmesan Potato Chips but I don't buy them very often becuase I'm likely to eat the entire bag.

Wise Originals.

All time favorite: Old Dutch Sour Cream & Onion.

Otherwise, I like Old Dutch Kettle Chips...either salt & vinegar or jalapeƱo & chedder..Old Dutch Dill Pickle (which is basically salt & vinegar chips with dill...you love'em or hate'em) and for pure experimentation, Archer Farms (Target Brand) has some very good "gourmet flavors"

Pop into Trader Joe's and pick up a bag of their blue chips. You'll be licking your fingers and stabbing at the bottom of the bag until every last crumb is gone!

Any flavor Zapps, most brands of Vinegar and Salt flavored chips (bonus points if they make me cough or catch my breath when I smell the bag) and, I don't know if any of you might consider them chips, but in Louisiana, fresh cracklings are KING. I love eating them like chips. As for tortilla chips, I make my own and you can't beat that.

Generally available: Utz wins. Plain is good but I also like their honey barbecue.

When I travel to central PA I usually load up the car. There are tons of, um, "microchipperies" (is that a word?) there. Many are cooked in lard which gives a unique texture and flavor. Gibbles, Goods, Kay and Ray's, someone already mentioned dieffenbach's.

Kay and Ray's has a Dark chips. Not burnt. Really tasty.

Used to be Clover Club potato chips -- does anyone else remember the commercial where the Clover Club Lady talks about hand-filling the chip bags? Actually, I hated that commercial, but loved the chips!

I love the "Dirty Chips" brand but they are hard to find and very expensive. They are the best that I've had
