Favorite Drink
I was just reading Baking Bites, and they had a article on National Rum day, the Amateur Gourmet did a post about his favorite drink, that he got from his dad...
My favorite is a pineapple pushover...
1 oz. Vodka , 1/2 oz. Ameretto 4 oz., Pineapple Juice, 1 oz. Cream. Shake with ice and serve in a higball...
What's yours???

Dirty Kettle One on the rocks.

Okay, I'm so pedestrian, trailer trash, far from 'high brow' and when it comes to drink (I just can't handle hard booze)...so I'm gonna shyly admit I'm a 'bud light' drinker. OMG I wanna cower in a corner now! Stop laughing at me already! Oh please be gentle with me? I'm such a po-dunk gal at heart. ;))

oh dear...bud light...that makes my stomach churn.
i'm a beer fan myself. faves include otter creek, any hefeweizen, magic hat #9 and a guinness (in ireland, of course, not so good from can/bottle).

Sangria is my summertime favorite.

Nothing wrong with beer, Cheffy, but I think Lilartist was asking for mixed drinks. Here are two of my favorites:
THE HORSEFEATHER
Drop 2 to 3 ice cubes in a rocks glass, pour in about 2 fingers of Irish whiskey, top off with ginger ale, add a couple dashes bitters. Stir and serve.
The DUBLIN 8
A heavy pour of Irish whiskey, the juice of half a small lime, a teaspoon of sugar, and a few ounces of orange juice and a tiny dash of bitters followed by a splash of soda. Garnish with thin lime wheel.

Over the past couple of years it's definitely become whiskey and coke... but I love a great dry gin and tonic.

Whiskey Sour or anything with Tequila in it!

My friend Rob developed this for Centrico, our Mexican restaurant in Tribeca, whose chef is Aarón Sánchez. It's simple, delicious and very refreshing on a hot summer night:
The Jala-Piña®
In a glass jar, combine 1 peeled, chopped pineapple, I chopped jalapeno pepper, 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 750ml bottle Herradura Silver Tequila. Refrigerate overnight, strain, shake with ice, strain and serve.

Amaretto with diet coke and a cherry
any beer with lime
CAESERS! (this is a canadian thing I think??) They are like bloody marys but with CLAMATO instead of tomato juice. They are so good. Served with celery stalk, the glass rimmed with celery salt.
delicious.

B - Yes, caesars all the way! They're so refreshing and a nice change from sweet drinks. It's a total Canadian thing.
I also enjoy gin & tonics and mojitos. Awesome, I know what I'm doing after work today!
flye3076 at 6:25PM on 08/16/07
Mojito's for sure...way before they were "cool"! And a great glass of ZIN!

A proper Old-Fashioned. A little sugar, a few drops of bitters, some ice, and some Maker's Mark Bourbon, but absolutely NO soda water. I may muddle in an orange slice if I'm in the mood, although that's not completely necessary.

Disaronno Amaretto and coke
Long Island Ice tea if it is well made. 1 of those is usually enough to make me say things I'll regret, 2 will make me DO things I'll regret....
Malibu rum with pineapple juice
And various beers but NO GUINNESS. The husband and his pal call it mother's milk but I can't stand it. It looks and tastes like used coffee grounds and dirt with a splash of mud puddle water.

Gin and tonic (particularly Tanqueray gin!) Mmm...

My brother fixed a bloody mary for me at our recent family reunion and it was so good that I've started making my own. Premium vodka, Mr. Mrs. T's bloody mary mix and any number of chunky things to stir in like celery, olives, pickled okra, etc. But the real kicker is to rim the glass by rubbing it with lemon or lime and then rolling the rim in a mix of kosher salt, celery salt, and coarsely ground pepper. So good, I even make it without vodka!

Mount Gay dark rum and ginger ale (SO refreshing on a hot day)
Grey Goose PEAR on the rocks
YUUUUUUUM!

I have three favorites:
French Martini
Negroni
Margarita (blended)
And that rare ocassion of "girls night out" with my two sisters? A Flaming Lamborghini Shooter (Galliano/Creme de Cafe Liqueur/Chartreuse) is always included
Choice for beer? Probably a Sam Adams or Heineken ~ there are so many choices and have yet to find a favorite

love hand infused top shelf liquors! Very popular in Boston restaurants and bars this summer. Especially like infused rum drinks with orange, ginger, cinnaman, YUMMY!
