Chinese deliverymen in New York filed lawsuit.

I found this article pretty interesting, and am still amazed (although I shouldn't be) that they are making less than $2 an hour in New York. (Even if they were being paid the actual minimum wage, it's still less than $5 an hour.) How do they feed themselves, let alone their families?

Its a real shame that is not a reasonable wage to live on. Do people tip delivery drivers 20%? If the food is on time I think its appropriate.

I can't believe what lousy tippers people are! I tip the same amount as I would the waitstaff in a restaurant - generally 20% if the service is good.

3 bucks on a near 50 dollar delivery? too bad the deliverymen can't sue the people who tip like that. 15-20% on deliveries is the rule.

Good work by the Chinese Staff and Workers’ Association. Sad for the Saigon owner Nget to have drawn such a line in the sand and negatively affecting what he and his family work so hard for. Still sounds like he was negligent and unfair. Hopefully some good will come of it, better awareness of poor treatment of kitchen/delivery/service staff is a start.

What a great story - thanks for the link!

Why is tipping still considered the appropriate response to adequate wages? It's just wrong! It's all about making the food look cheaper than it is, but who often pays the difference? The server or delivery person. Disgraceful.
