Bear Naked Granola tastes funny to me
I normally make my own granola (it's so much cheaper), but this week I was busy so I decided to purchase a bag of Bear Naked vanilla almond crunch. I had seen their story on the Food Network and read great reviews of their products so I thought it was a safe bet. Unfortunately, my bag smelled and tasted like Play-Doh. I exchanged it, figuring it was a bad bag, yet this bag had the same off-putting taste and smell.
Have any of you had the same experience?

I just purchased a double/bag of the dark chocolate variety from Costco. I've eaten it as a late night snack instead of ice-cream or other sweets. I have to say that I rather enjoyed the Bear Naked granola. I'll buy it again.

I think their Hot oatmeal is awesome- they add sunflower seeds and other goodies to make it even heartier. I throw in some raising and cranberries and it's a delicious breakfast. I actually search it out- so I guess that means I like it.

It's possible that my two bags came from a bad batch, but I've found some reviewers on Amazon that corroborate my experience...maybe it's the flavor I picked...

I've tried all the Bear Naked granola and cereal flavors except chocolate. Every bag I have ever gotten has been nice and crunchy, with the exception of the "Peak Protein" flavor. That granola did taste and smell like Play-Doh.
My favorites are Triple Berry Crunch and Banana Nut. I eat one or the other every day. Yum. Nice and crunchy.
