There Will Be No HP7 Spoilers on Serious Eats!

It will be safe to read Serious Eats prior to and just after the release of HP and the Deathly Hallows. We won't blog any spoilers—unless there's a MAJOR food-related plot line in the book. And even then, we'll give you fair warning ;)

Thank you, Adam! I'm on the wait list at the library but I might take myself down to Borders if the wait becomes excruciating. The NY Times had a review this morning and I turned the page. Don't even post a food related line, please don't spoil the suspense!

No problem, ride&cook! I thought it would be funny to post this topic because I myself have been avoiding certain media before buying the book tomorrow night at midnight. I've been reading the New York Times only lightly and have banned myself from Gawker and Gothamist and any other site I think might spill the (Bertie Bott's) beans.

PHEW! i was worried! ;)
we're going to be spoiler free at yumsugar too. wish the same could be said for my fellow sugar sites (i won't even put the link just in case, but they have the big spoilers and I now have to avoid talking to half of my co-workers) I even thought about reading that photographed version of the book just so it wouldn't be spoiled.

what will you be eating when you read it?

I'm hoping that "Girl Slice" aka "The Hamburgirl" will do a reprise of the night we bought Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, when we had some good burgers around the corner from Scholastic HQ and then got in line for the book.

Then we're going to hole up and read the book over the weekend. Maybe we'll grill something. I don't know.

I will unceremoniously wait on Saturday until the mailman comes with my package from amazon.com. .__. Too lazy to wait in line = losing hours and hours of precious HP7 reading time, but I guess I can live with that.

The line went surprisingly fast last year, Robyn. But I guess I had someone to wait with and crazy HP wackiness going on to keep me entertained.

haha - great post. mailman's bringing it tomorrow and i'll be camped out all weekend on the deck with HP and a tall glass of lemonade :)

I will be number 23 in line at B&N. Have Berties Bott's Every Flavour Beans, Cockroach Clusters, and Space Food Sticks, which are back in production! A lot of sugar to keep us going. (I'm having a friend over for an all-night reading. My husband will probably hide under the bed.

I'm really excited, but I think I'm going to force myself to save it-- we're taking two very long roadtrips back to back (to New Mexico and New York, from Texas), so I think I'm going to hoard the delights of HP7 until I get thoroughly sick of the scenery.

My fiancee looked at those photocopied pages online, said they read like a fan had written them, really bad writing style he said. That and what he told me sounded crazy!! Don't worry I won't spoil anything he read, just that it didn't have the same tone/feel as all the other books.

We are going to a local bookstore tonight, a friend of ours organized the stores party, should be fun :)

So what snacks will everyone have on hand for the long weekend of reading? I'm ordering our usual pizza for supper tonight but I'm thinking of getting extra so that we'll have leftovers on hand for snacking. I read the NYTimes review and it really did not reveal anything. But avoid the Salon review, I had to close my browser in a hurry! Oh, and we're getting our copies at our local Kroger grocery store. Last time, they had the shortest line in town.

Thank God for Serious Eats I can barely look at anything online or on tv without being afraid of hearing something I don't want to! Spoilers suck!
