The 5 physical senses. Give up one

We hear, see, touch, smell & taste everyday in our food experiences. We hear the sizzle of bacon frying, see that perfect ripe peach at the farmer's market, our hands shape yeast dough into dinner rolls, smell the morning coffee brewing & enjoy the tart taste of lemon sorbet. If you had to give up one of the 5 senses, which one would it be?

I would give up sight. No sound has to be maddening and the others would be horrible. One can live a full life without seeing. You just cannot drive. I think sight is sometimes deceiving. What you see is not always what you get.

would give up sight or hearing before giving up the sense of smell, wouldn't want to go thru life without smelling and tasting meat on the grill, gumbo, pecan pie, bread baking and freshly ground dark roast coffee.

crap. thats a tough one. i'm a visual person, so i would have to give up sound.

wonder what life would be like if you gave up the sense of touch....would it be like your paralyzed?

As a photographer AND a musician there's no way I could choose between the two. So by process of elimination it'd have to be - gasp - taste. I'd never want to lose the sensation of touch.

TOUGH QUESTION! (and my god, i hope NONE of us ever lose ANY of our senses!!)

I think I"d rather lose touch, than sight or sound, in terms of food. Taste is out of the question, that's essential. But touch is mostly irrelevant to eating.

I can't imagine. I lost my sense of taste for a while after a car accident, and that was brutal. Smell and taste go together, so that's a no go. I read constantly and am an avid photographer, so that's out. No music? No way. No touch? That would mean no--or boring--sex, so that's definitely out! I want it all...
