Table topics: What are your taboos?
99% of the time I'm dining like the title of the new book "Alone in The Kitchen With An Eggplant". When I am sharing a meal, I do enjoy conversations that are positive & light-hearted. Share your thoughts. So far the book has been fun to read. Anyone else reading it?

parsnips, but seriously, arguments and raised voices, eating is a civilized act save the fights for when the food has digested. Laughter and other sounds of enjoyment are welcome.

Any comments regarding someone's weight; diet; or their guilt upon eating the dish...."I shouldn't be eating all of this but...." or "I just started by diet yesterday...", etc. I love my food, I love eating my food, and if you don't fully appreciate the beauty of the dish you are eating, then go give it to someone that will. Thank you.

If anyone comes near my plate without an OK they are getting forked or worse. If anyone sticks their fingers in any food on serving dishes, mainly because I always provide serving utensils, they are getting forked.
If anyone says (unless there is something that requires that condiment) they need ketchup or mustard or hot sauce, they are getting forked and may not even be able to finish the meal.
if any sad sad troglodyte comes to my table and comments on the locatelli cheese smelling like dirty laundry, I will put some on their food and make them eat it.
If you are on a diet and you are not going to eat, don't come to my home.
If you are on a diet and want me to whip up something in your food allergy, restricted/calorie, attenuated diet dish, all you have to do is call me.
I do accommodate my guests.(shocker huh?!)
Having said that, weird requests are not always granted.
Permission to bring something to my table must always be granted. Things you bring may not be served. Sometimes they do not even make it to the actual kitchen. (ref:the jello poke cake/trash can incident of 1992)
Always play it safe at our house and call ahead to see if it is permissible.
Wow I am a B**** aren't I?

No JerzeeTomato....I do not think you are. Actually, I read your post and thought: "Wow, I would love to go to a dinner party at that person's house. I might actually enjoy myself, and my food."
