How do you flavor your popcorn?
A sprinkle of salt with a light drizzle of real butter is my usual. Cinnamon sugar, if I'm craving something sweet. Share your flavor creations.

A nice handful of asiago and romano cheese. Perfect.

I am addicted to the "popcorn blend" of my childhood, a mix of garlic and various other spices made at a store called Calico, Sage and Thyme in Bowling Green, Ohio. I honestly have no idea what's in it, but it's not homemade popcorn without that perfect blend.

On the border here... chili powder! (Works with a cup of corn, too)

nutritional/brewars yeast, sounds gross, but so tasty.

Chili powder.
Or garam masala. Yum!

When I make popcorn I now use the butter/olive oil garlic combo.

Butter and salt if I'm popping it myself. I do have a serious weakness for that slightly sweet Kettle Korn^H^H^H^H Krack stuff too though....

a very little-kid combo of salt, chocolate chips, and peanut butter - so melty + messy!

About 3 years ago at a restaurant in Las Vegas we received truffle-oil flavored popcorn as an accompaniment to one of our entrees. We keep saying we're going to try to duplicate it at home, it was divine! But we never seem to get around to buying truffle oil, it is so expensive.

parmesan cheese & cayenne pepper! OR some curry powder.

I add a little rendered bacon fat to the oil when popping my corn. Everything tastes better with bacon.

Cavender's Greek Seasoning...or Brewer's Yeast (no, not at the same time!)
KevinFinnerty at 10:58AM on 07/23/07
Mostly salt and butter, but sometimes I will put on it parmesan and fresh ground pepper, sooooo good.
Sarahrm at 1:41PM on 07/23/07
Melted butter with soy sauce incorporated in - then toss it with brewers yeast. The hippies from Vermont taught me that in college. I used to even make a meal out of it!

Nothing beats lots of butter and salt over air-popped pocorn, though the chili powder + lots of freshly grated parmesan mix is also really good.
For something sweet, I like to melt a little honey in the microwave and drizzle that on. (It gets sticky though, so I often resort to eating it with a spoon...)

I am so glad other people here like nutritional yeast/brewer's yeast on their popcorn (its also great in salads!) I worked at a yoga institute in upstate NY for a summer, and the hippies there taught me - I no longer eat popcorn any other way!

sea salt and real butter!

my housemates and I used to make three bowls for a taste-off: butter & sea salt, butter and nutritional yeast, olive oil, garlic salt and parm. we're all winners in that battle.
