Going to San Francisco. Any great dining suggestions for a foodie?
Would like some input on restaurants in the Bay Area. Husband's first time in S.F. and we love different. Thanks.

In San Francisco a few good ones are: A16 (Italian), Town Hall (Eclectic Cuisine), and Piperade (Basque).......Also Chinatown is loaded with restaurants as is North Beach

GREEN'S...arguably THE original vegetarian restaurant--ultra-fresh cuisine and carefully curated flavors. I visited a few years ago (and I'm not vegetarian) and it was amazing. The tasting menus seem like a great deal, too. Nab a window seat! ........www.greensrestaurant.com

If you'll be here on a Saturday, go to the Ferry Building Farmer's Market. Not neccesarily dining, but some great options for food to eat while you shop.

I would check out:
Gary Danko's -- his food is simply awesome.
Bix or Town Hall -- because they're fun places, and the food is great
Hog Island Oyster Co. -- in the ferry bldg... just yummy. with a great view!
Zuni Cafe -- for the sf experience
Boulevard -- most excellent food, and another sf experience
Yank Sing -- for great dimsum
enjoy!

Agree with Greens - I eat there everytime I visit SF (2-3 times per year.) Staff is a little "above it all" and often slow but the specials and desserts are glorious. Seriously consider getting a takeout vegan cupcake from the counter on your way out the door. 5 hours later you will want it. They serve Graffeo coffee which is heavenly drunk black. I buy beans at Graffeo in North Beach when I visit
