We will be in London for the weekend and are looking for interesting (read: affordable!) restaurants.
Thanks.

if you are looking for a casual place that reminds you of home bodeans is your spot. great bbq, owned by an american with american sports on the tv. what more can you ask for when away from home but bbq and the yankees-bring your appetite!!

Have Londoner friends, will ask. Do you like livers and lights and innards? I assume if you are going for the weekend, you don't want stuff that reminds you of home!

We'll pass on the innards, thanks.

Where are you planning to stay and what sorts of cuisine are you after? I can think of loads of places, but it would be helpful if you could narrow it down a bit.

We had a fabulous lunch at the Cafe on top of Harvey Nichols they also have a fantastic market up there to to browse through.

St John's Bread and Wine is definitely on the interesting list and is slightly cheaper than its brother restaurant. But it's still not cheap - more affordable at lunch, I guess. But I agree with caley, could you narrow it down a bit please?

Wagamama for a quick lunch!

Tokyo Diner in Leicester Square!!!!!! Cheap and tasty Japanese food!!!! That was one of my favorite places to eat when I used to live there.

i second wagamama's. i've only been in london but they opened 2 in boston.

I could go on for ages.

Try TopTable for more inspiration, but there are a number of easy/cheap options, such as Wagamama's, Busaba's Eathai, Zizzi's for Italian, a couple other nice places, such as Simurgh or Sofra's. These are all in or around the West End/Covent Garden area.

Check Toptable though, if you're looking for a certain cuisine type or neighborhood. They also offer different deals at different restaurants.
