Does anyone else remember the fun 1963 film, 'The Doughnuts'?
The picture on the SE entry, 'I Welcome Our Donut Robot Overloards' sparked a memory about seeing 'The Doughnuts' back in grade school. It's mentioned in an entry over at IMDB where one commenter also remembers seeing it. I you've ever seen this movie, let's hear about it. And if you know where to get it, please say so!

LunaPierCook: I keep checking this thread to see if anyone else has seen The Doughnuts. What is it about? Don't tell me it's a sci-fi doughnut movie!

Adam, I think a newer version was made as well, but it had a different title. In this doughnut shop in the film, they install an automated doughnut maker, which I suddenly remembered when I saw the "Donut Overlord" thread. After a while, the automated thing starts speeding up, to the point where even the regular cusomers are helping run it. Suddenly, the token rich lady realizes she's lost a piece of expensive jewelry in the batter. The place goes nuts with people tearing doughnuts apart trying to find the jewelry and get the reward she's offered.
The teachers in elementary school must have shown us this thing at least ten times (I want to say a dozen, but that would be going too far into the whole doughnut thing...)
