trader joe's reserve section at the wine store?
just got back from the wine shop at trader joe's--can anyone recommend any of the good ultra-cheap trader joe reserve section/label wines? i still can't seem to be able to get over my wine snob hurdle and buy a bottle of wine for under $7!! not a big fan of the several charles shaw bottles i've sampled either..

Here on the left coast we call it Two-Buck Chuck however, I think that it is Three Bucks elsewhere. I find that if you open it on Thursday it is OK to cook with on Saturday. And it makes a decent Sangria.
And I think that you will find that under $7 can be OK - just experiment.

I really like the Finca Solana, which is a Spanish organic red wine for about six bucks in California. I just bought it last week, and it smells really great. I don't know how to describe wines very well, but this post at Chowhound does it better than I can. And two-buck Chuck is fine, but I find I use it for cooking more rather than drinking.

as someone who was once a wine snob, and used to hate white wine, it is hard for me to admit that i love TJs Vino Verde ... and at $3.99 a bottle in NYC you can't go wrong. It is light, crisp, effervescent and refreshing. a perfect drink in the oppressive summer heat.
