What's your favorite midnight snack?
We all do it now and then. It's 2am here, I'm an insomniac, and I just enjoyed a thin Kavali cracker with melted butter, cinnamon, and splenda sprinkled and nuked.
And you?

Hot, soft pretzels. I just had one. It was soooo good. :)

Usually it's pickles. But last night, I had a hotdog. Boy am I regretting it this morning :(

Mac and cheese or pizza.

whatever it leftover from dinner...straight from the fridge, with whatever condiment looks good. A peice of cold roast beef with a tiny squirt of mustard for example

Leftovers, especially leftover takeaway food. Indian is particularly nice.

White bread with pesto sauce.

WIde egg noodles tossed with butter, sour cream, garlic, parmesan, and chives if I have them. Slurrpy, fatty, tasty good.

cold pizza or breakfast cereal and milk.

Fettucine alfredo. I go into the kitchen boil the water and make the sauce at the same time. So rich and fattening. If I am feeling adventerous I also throw in some cut up bacon and fresh garden peas. MMMMM.

Ice cream!
Ash at 2:50PM on 04/17/07
I second ice cream!
mepolo at 4:28PM on 04/17/07
Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl's Jr., considering the only times I have a midnight snack is when I'm drunk.
Clare K at 4:32PM on 04/17/07
Cold roast potatoes - if I'm lucky enough to have some in the fridge. Otherwise I second the cornflakes and milk option.
zee at 5:17PM on 04/17/07
Fresh fruit or Kashi trail mix granola bar
JEP at 7:04PM on 04/17/07
I'm eating kumquats right now. It is not the best midnight snack ever. I am wishing I had some wings, actually.
Myszka at 1:09AM on 04/18/07
the best midnight snack I've found that lets me get back to sleep anyway, is a popcorn or rice cake with a little peanut butter and salt. Weird I know but I crave salt all the time and the protein in the peanut butter keeps the carbs in the cake from shooting my blood sugar too high and getting me wired.
huney_bumper at 12:01PM on 04/18/07
beer an chili nutterz, but of coarse
Dallas at 1:11PM on 04/24/07
Used to be beer and popcorn; but as a recovering alcoholic, gotta' go with the ice cream, the richer the better! (am hooked on Phish Food)
hatlady at 1:21PM on 04/24/07
Didn't mean to douse the flame of the midnight snack! Come on, bloggers, what comforts a lonely soul at 2 o'clock in the morning?
hatlady at 4:38PM on 04/24/07
good ol'fashioned peanut butter & jelly, big bowl of cereal or krispy kreme donuts
thefrugalfoodie at 12:20AM on 04/25/07
Oreo cookies
Exozito at 11:51AM on 12/13/08
Mmmmmm Oreos!!
Or buttered toast, if I have good, homemade bread on hand. That goes double if I also have pomegranate jelly.
buffy at 12:27PM on 12/13/08
last night it was a pomegranate and a sliver of brie.
cybercita at 1:07PM on 12/13/08
I go for the easy stuff. Leftovers, (Chinese is especially good!) whatever chips/cookies/crackers are around... Things that don't need prep. I'm too lazy to put ice cream in a bowl late at night!
