What's for dinner on Easter? Are you cooking?
I'm having a small group over for dinner. It's turning into a full day affair with the Buffalo Sabres hockey game @ 1...so we'll be eating snacks earlier in the day (including Buffalo Wing Dip of course) & then dinner later. I'm making the traditional ham....but still undecided on the sides. What's going on in your house Sunday?

We used to meet at my brother-in-law's which was halfway for us and my in-laws. But he had the audacity to leave NJ for Florida! So we'll trek up to NJ and have dinner at Braddock's Tavern in Medford.

For the first time ever, I'm preparing a "city" ham - semi-boneless and glazed. I usually don't make a huge meal since it's just the four of us.
But we'll all do some damage to the pork this year.

Crab boil. Dungeoness crab, shrimp, mussels (if available), clams, corn, and potatoes. =)

my husband is in the restaurant industry, so we never get to celebrate easter together (or christmas eve, or any other major holiday for that matter). however, this year instead of being alone, i've been asked to come in to work with him and help create the easter buffet. we used to work catering jobs together, so i'm not unhandy with a knife and i follow orders pretty well. i'm very excited about being able to spend time with him in a professional kitchen!

Going out for big family meal to the Sheraton in Edinburgh. They do a great buffet and, if the kids can take a break from stuffing themselves with chocolate eggs, there's a magician too!

Jerzee...I did all my Easter shopping at Wegman's last night. I got some beautiful baby potatoes that I decided I'm going to steam.
What do you think of Wegman's? It's great to see our local grocery store branching out into other areas!
I also got some asparagus & organic carrots...both of which will be steamed, and then I'll glaze the carrots w/some local honey.

Goose with citrus, veggies, soup, fruit tart, yum yum.
though polish custom usually has the main focus of the day on breakfast - eggs, polish sausage, more soup. triple yum :)

@mepolo I LOVE LOVE LOVE Wegman's. I drive 35 minutes to get to one.
I never create a holiday dinner without stopping there. Wegman's is like Disney World for foodies. I buy their boneless chicken breasts in the family pack and freeze them. They are HUGE. There is not enough I can say about that place.
I bought the smoked mozzarella on my recent trip. I made a sundried tomato sauce, papperdelle and breaded chicken breasts with their roasted garlic bread crumbs. I call it chicken alla Wegman's. mmmmm.

Jerzee...I feel the same way. I don't do all of my shopping at Wegman's....we have alot of local markets so when I have time I like to check out different markets for different things...but when I want to get the best of everything all at once, then Wegman's is the place to go. I too have to drive 25 minutes to get there....but if I can coordinate it with my drive home from work, then it's almost on the way!
Your chicken dish sounds yummy...I'll have to try that sometime. I love the Nature's Marketplace in the store too...it's great to have all those organic choices at reasonable prices. Hmmm...we sound like a commercial now, don't we? lol
