What is the best pepper mill on the market?
After trying out a couple of disappointing pepper mills (oxo and vic firth), and reading countless reviews of other pepper mills, I am wondering what the readers and folks at Serious Eats think are the best quality pepper mills on the market?

I like the German Zasenhaus available thru Penzey's, and I have 6 or 7 mills. The battery ones really suck.

Peugeot is a simple classic.

i like the peppergun because it's good for my smaller hands, kind to my arthritic-prone joints and also allows me to adjust the grind from fine to coarse.

I like the Zasenhaus, too. Adjustable grind, and it stays on the grind that I put it on.

I've got a large Magnum Plus mill from Unicorn, who also do the PepperGun. Works as advertised. Only problem I have is that the little door through which you feed the peppercorns can come open if I use my left had to turn the grinder.

I love my Pepperguns. I have a white one I use for sea salt and a black one for pepper. I especially love that I can operate it with one hand. Very useful when I'm busy in the kitchen. I've used them for years and have no complaints.

I have a Peugeot electric pepper mill and I absoltly love it.
It was a gift and if I had to buy one myself, I am not sure I would choose the electric version. However, it allows you to grind both small and large quantities very easily.

Picked up my little lucite model at Williams Sonoma last year, and am quite happy with it. It is operable with one hand (has a shaft on the side that you press in repeatedly when you hold it, which sets off the grinding mechanism), and easy to fill.
