Question of the Day: How do you want those eggs done?

Over easy? Sunnyside up? Scrambled?

42 Comments:

Poached with rye toast, side of bacon.

poached or soft-boiled.

3 minute, with sliced toast to dip in.

or over-easy, with toast to mop up.

Scrambled loosely.....I detest dry eggs!
Sunnyside up with crispy edges would be 2nd. :-)

poached is first...with sunnyside up running a close 2nd.

Over medium.

Over medium, lightly scrambled or like my morning snack today an orange colored easter egg from my grandaughter dipped in sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

Poached or over easy with toasted, buttered sourdough.

soft scrambled. mmm!

Basted Eggs which is how my mother makes"fried eggs"....I like to dip burnt toast in the yokes.

Extra-fluffy four-egg omelet with fresh tarragon.

Poached eggs with a slice of my mom's homemade bread.

perfectly poached or over medium

scrambled very loosely or sunnyside up, served with a delicious meat—usually bacon, but I picked up some chorizo last night at Whole Foods so that's what's for lunch!

Scrambled. I like the yoke, not really the white (especially the hard-boiled, jiggly version), so I prefer when the two are mixed. Poached works too, but I'm not a fan of sunnyside up.

Devilled and sprinkled with aleppo pepper.

Sunny side up! with buttered whole wheat toast to soak up the runny yolk.

Preferrably in Benedict, second would be deviled, third is egg salad, and fourth would be over medium. :}

Sunny side up! with whole wheat toast to soak up the yoke.

Fried for 30 seconds, then doused with Maggi, and flipped over just for a few seconds more to imbue the MSG-laden saltiness into the flesh. Yolk is runny and a quick pierce sends its yellow lava coursing into whatever you've placed the egg upon, be it yesterday's fried rice, stir-fried wheat noodles, or a plate.

Am I the only one who likes hard boiled? Or rather, am I the only one who somehow formed a distaste for scrambled eggs as a kid?

I think I grew up eating overcooked eggs and now that's the way I like them. [insert look of horror]

Roboppy, I rang in with devilled, which starts with hard boiled.
I, too, grew up with overcooked eggs but now I like them runny!

1)Sunny side up with truffle oil.
2) in a dandy egg cup, soft boiled
3) Baked with massive amounts of butter.
4) Huevos Rancheros.
5) I love eggs.

Poached, over-easy, deviled (with dijon mustard), or loose scramble please. Hate when scrambled eggs or omelets are dry and spongey. Ewww.

poached..
or sunny side up but only if I do it myself...
scrambled but only if it's done loosely and it's still soft and eggy

over medium or soft boiled

usually, as a fluffy omelet. otherwise, as a salt-pickled, hard-boiled egg

while we are wishing: cheese souffle.

Very soft runny poached eggs

Any way. I eat hard-boiled egg(s) every day as part of breakfast. I love scrambled, over-easy, poached, really any way. I love fried egg sandwiches on squishy white bread with a slice of white American.

My favorite eggs are from my uncle's chickens. My aunt cooks some bacon from their pigs and then fries the eggs in the leftover grease. She bastes them with it. I'd love it every morning but alas will settle for when I visit their farm in Vermont.

Coddled in cream and herbs

After watching the Gordon Ramsay video, I want my eggs just like that.

This morning it was over easy with a slice of cheese on top, served atop a slice of Canadian bacon and sandwiched between the halves of an English muffin. With plenty of hot sauce. Usually I go scrambled or poached but I had a hankering for an egg sandwich.

Anybody else here do scrambled eggs and hot dogs?

scrambled, on top of a piece of buttered wheat toast. and a slice of tomato on top with salt & pepper.

over-easy; scrambled but only if it's done loosely and it's still soft and but just lost its egginess; omelet with 'shrooms and smoked salmon

all with toast!

scrambled wth spinach and feta cheese, shallot salt and a grind of pepper.

"Crackers, Crackers where's the eggman?"

Poached, atop a crispy toasted lightly buttered thick English muffin. Hungover Gourmet: When I was in college, in Boston in the 1970s, after a hard night of partying, a bunch of us would feast at Ken's in Copley Square. I ate scrambled eggs and hot dogs there on more than one occasion. Thanks for the memory!

Another vote for poached.

1) 4-minute
2) sunny-side up
3) poached
4) or any other way, as long as the yolk is runny and the white is done.

Scrambled hard...or if it's an omlette, add a lil' water to make them fluffy :)

over medium because only true elitists order eggs over medium
