Best butchers in NYC?
Preferably in Brooklyn or Manhattan, I am looking for a place where I can get a Saddle of Lamb.

Ed, why do you think Florence is better than Lobel's, possibly other than price (Lobel's is unbelievably expensive)?

Lobel's is hands down the best butcher in the city and maybe the country. I hesitate to reccommend it to people because it is so expensive.

I lived across the street from Florence for 6 years. While I've heard great things, seeing them unload the meat at 8am from the vans, well, put me off it a bit. I suppose it put an axe through some of my naivety about food handling here in good old NYC.
Sorry if I'm being a buzz kill here. :(

Jeffrey's, Essex Street Market. Prices reasonable, meat excellent. Motto: If it's dead, we have it! (I might have that a bit wrong, but that's the gist!)
