Any ideas for good mexican place in middle to upper westside?

The food at Rosa Mexicano, 62nd and Ninth, is actually pretty good given how many covers they serve and the fact that it's part of a mini-chain. Excellent guacomole prepared tableside as spicy as you choose.

taqueria el fondo is on amsterdam and 107. it is pretty darn authentic and cheap but it's cafeteria setting; probably not a saturday night date kind of place. everything is delicious!

Gabriela's is great for Yucatan Mexican. Their rotisserie chicken is delectable. The atmosphere is festive and it is fairly inexpensive..It is in the 90's and amsterdam I think.

Calle Ocho on Columbus and 82nd (more South American regional than Mexcian, but delicious and great atmosphere). Mama Mexico on 102nd and Broadway (so good, and a mariachi band).

i second both gabriela's and rosa mexicano!

Hell's Kitchen on 49 and ninth. Excellent moles authentic mexican.

Mama Mexico on 102nd & Broadway. I haven't been there in a while, but the guacamole was excellent (prepared tableside to your preference) as was everything else. I gotta get back down to the city . . .
