What one food are you ashamed to admit you like?

I was very judgemental about what people ordered to drink when I was a bartender; but secretly craved frozen strawberry daiquiries, which were a pain to make. A Tanqueray drinker, I never, ever, ordered a daiquiri from a bartender I knew.

40 Comments:

The cheese powder on Doritoes *blush*

Puffy cheetos.

I looove girly alchoholic drinks that come in the glass bottles. Like Bartyl's (spell?) and James.

Fried bologna sandwich.

Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam... If it weren't for a little camouflage beneath a pile of organic frisée and the self-checkout lines, I'd never be able to buy my little block of salty pork. Oh, the shame of it all!

Hey, there's no shame in SPAM!

and who dares mock Spam?
you? you? you are not worthy
of one rich pink fleck

Highly unnatural
The tortured shape of this "food"
A small pink coffin

more SPAM haikus

Wispride or Kaukana Club cheese spread, especially the port wine flavor.

Plain corn tortillas dipped in refried beans from a can. Dinty Moore Beef Stew with chopped onion in it. Canned vienna sausages on white bread with catsup. Okay, I guess that's 3, and I haven't even scratched the surface.

Blueberry pop tarts. Oh the shame. I hide them in the very back of the pantry behind the panko, no one ever looks there. (since they don't know what panko is)

Utz brand salt and pepper chips. i would eat a whole bag in one sitting. but I live in the South now and we can't get Utz down here. wah.

pillsbury bisuits. mmmmmm.

Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in the can, with the little tub of frosting. Mmmm....

Ham and pickle crisps from Brannigans. They have them in exceptionally trashy pubs.

Marshmallow Fluff - though only in theory, not so much in practice. And I am obsessed with the idea of a Fluffernutter, for the sheer American junk food brilliance of it.

Fried bologna sandwiches! Love them! Best kind -- fried Coronado ring bologna sandwiches with plain old yellow mustard. Fried fat beats all.

Menudo. I always call it possum stew because it looks like something the beverly hillbillies would eat. But I love it...with onions, peppers, lemon and corn tortillas. Yum! I would never eat it out with the girls though.

Magic Shell ice cream topping. I could eat it by itself with a spoon! In fact...sometimes I squirt some into a spoon and then put it in the freezer until it hardens..then I have myself of magic shell pop. I acutally do not buy the stuff anymore because it taunts me til it's gone!

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. I love making homemade mac & cheese...but every once in awhile I have to have the boxed stuff...using double cheese packs & milk & butter! :-)

1 can condensed tomato soup, (campbells), no water added, 1 slice american cheese, heat in saucepan, pour over 2 slices toasted white bread.

i make a bowl of peanut butter with syrup on top and dip white bread in it.... I grew up on that stuff

Roasted Pork. The fat skin part. It's soooo good, but yeah...not so good to your heart

o-thatswhy

Malenky, oh my god that's alot of sugar! lol!

When I was a kid, my mom would make us Macaroni Elbows and a ton of mutter melted with it. I haven't had that in a good 10 years. I think I was half retarded when I was a young child, cause I loved to eat butter. I can't imagine that now.

Ranch doritos, jalapeno poppers and that fake nacho cheese from movie theaters and ballparks. I could lick a tray clean of it and feel shame only after leaving said venue.

Warm evaporated milk straight out of the can

Laughing cow cheese. Yum.

mashed potatoes mixed with corn and italian dressing

Tostidos salsa on queso -- or something like that -- a big ol jar of "cheeze." And then there's the whole McD's sausage patty thing. So shameful.

Welch's Grape Jelly. Had it on the Swedish pancakes my father made when I was growing up. TO this day, when I visit, they send me home with a triple batch of pancakes--and a jar of Welch's. Worse still, when I am sick or depressed, ice-cold Welch's on really, really fresh squishy white bread!

Fritos and cream cheese.... yum. If you get the whipped cream cheese (alas this stupid little island doesn't have it) it makes eating them on the way home almost safe (not that it matters anymore because we have no cars and I am definately not talented enough to eat fritos and cream cheese on a bike). It was a sad month or two when there were no fritos to be had.

Take a Big Scoop Frito and use it to capture 3 or 4 M&Ms then eat in one bite. Yum!

boiled white rice with ketchup. cous cous or rice with melted mozzarella or similar melty cheese and butter (or worse, can't believe it's not butter) (and, sometimes, a little ketchup!!). Popcorn with cheese and..yep..ketchup : ) i know, it's shameful..

guacamole flavored doritos. for some reason i have a hard time finding them nowadays.

Cherry licorice and Peeps.

Stouffer's French Bread Pizza

Kraft Mac & Cheese... you know... the blue box... ouch!

microwaved cheese. slice or grate some sharp cheddar onto a microwave-safe plate, then zap for 5 minutes. pour the oil off the top and you're left with crunchy, salty goodness! Must scrape up with a spoon, takes some effort. my dad taught me that one.

Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk...straight out of the can. It's horrible, I know, but it is ohhhhh so good!

Even better, boil the can for 2 hours and you have instant caramel. Spread it in a graham cracker crust, top with whipped cream, chocolate chips & chopped nuts....even better!!

I've also gotten hooked on the new Sweet Spicy Chili Doritoes, which now I can't find anywhere argh!

Easy cheese. Yes, the unnatural orange, chemical laden shit in a can that doesn't require refrigeration even though the can clearly states it is "MADE WITH REAL CHEESE".

Why do we have such an obsession with fake cheese when real cheese is so good? Crazy.

SPAM!!! And far from being ashamed I flaunt it by buying it in bulk!

Reddi-Whip. Yes, right from the can.
