What did you have for lunch?
Anyone enjoy something delicious? Maybe just a vending machine lunch? Or possibly a diet related meal?
I enjoyed a pile of Turkey Breast on Whole Wheat topped with Spinach, Sliced Avocado and Mustard.

I'm saving my delicious-ness (and calories) for a big dinner tonight, so I had a less-than inspired salad for lunch.

I had hot and spicy noodle soup with rice cake from KoFoo, the Korean food place around the corner from the office. Again.
I love the food there, and the woman there now knows my order when I visit. Downside is that today she asked, "Don't you want to try something else?" Next time I go in, I'm going to let her pick my lunch (cross my fingers).

Adam - if it's a warm day try the #11 bim bob at Ko Foo - cool, spicy and delicious.
I was on upper east side and had a slice of Mimi's pizza on the run. Not up to their usual standards. (I also noticed the Papaya King on 86th and 3rd is closed for health violations.)

I had a spicy tuna sashimi and avocado rice bowl, one of my favorite neighborhood lunches. So good.

I had a Diet Coke. Again.
I really gotta move to a city that has real places to eat.

Thinly-sliced Black Forest Ham, smoked turkey, chicken breast and provolone with broccoli slaw and mayo on a warmed club roll, with Glaceau Energy Water to wash it down. Plus two Maalox tablets about two hours later.

Fage Total 2% yogurt & Starbucks Espresso.

I had a Boar's Head Aroastica Chicken sandwich on whole wheat, a tiny bit of Duke's mayonnaise and a slice of white cheddar... plus a side of sweet red grapes. So so tasty!

Seared grass fed steak, broccoli, salad and four cheese macaroni.

Four low-salt ham and salami roll-ups (both Boar's Head courtesy of Stop & Shop), half an English cucumber, a small orange bell pepper, about 3T of All Seasons Kitchen's roasted garlic salsa cream cheese dip (courtesy of Costco, how I love that stuff), and all washed down with Poland Springs water from the office water cooler. Same thing I've had all week.

I work at home and just finished a project, so I decided to treat myself to neighborhood Chinese food. Didn't quite measure up, though: General Tso's chicken (overcooked, and they gave me fried rice instead of the steamed I ordered), but the spring roll was good and the hot and sour soup was HOT.

I had a costco hot dog and sprite. I got it with kraut, the good deli mustard and onions. Best $1.50 lunch on the run.

Last night's plain boiled pasta, tossed into a small pot with some Covent Garden Spinach Soup with Muscade, simmered with a fresh cracked egg on top. Sliced tomatoes and parsley tossed in at the end with a treacly curl of olive oil. Took me less than five minutes and it was sinful.

I had some grilled endives in the fridge so I chowed on two of those--what a great snack.

I've been bringing lunch to work for the past few days (due to a recent health-kick plus trying to clean out the pantry before moving at the end of the month):
today: steamed broccoli and sautéed tofu with garlic/soy sauce/sesame oil/Chinese five spice
yesterday: an AMAZING pilaf of bulgur wheat (made with chicken broth), caramelized onions, mushrooms, and red peppers, a few drops of basil olive oil, shredded Parm, and crushed oregano and garlic

I work at home and had falafel with smoked aubergine and pickled vegetables. My boyfriend brought leftovers from last night to work - broiled salmon, potatoes, steamed broccoli, bernaise (the Norwegian go-to dinner). His lunches are the subject of much jealousy at his office, but there are only three of them, so sometimes he brings in food for everyone.
Yesterday I had black eyed pea and tomato curry with yogurt and quinoa.

My usual desk lunch of fat free, low sugar lime yogurt with Grape Nuts mixed in. I often leave my office at night FAMISHED.

I had really bad chicken kabobs at an Indian restaurant. They tasted like sawdust.
Ed Levine at 3:09PM on 03/23/07
I put together a mix of chopped tomatoes and red onion, crumbled feta, chopped parsely, a healthy sprinkling of dried oregano, some freshly ground black pepper dressed with red wine vinegar and extra-virgin olive oil. Served on a bed of sliced avocado.

"Food day" at work. I brought corned beef that cooked all night in crock pot, sliced thin and freshly baked rye from Shapiro's Grey Poupon coarse ground mustard. So I had a great sandwich and Kerri's fabulous baked four cheese mac and cheese. Skipped the grocery store chocolate cake for a huge glazed donut from a local bakery. It was all very tasy and got me through the day just fine!

great spring greens & spinach salad from bice grill in chicago. everything but the kitchen sink in it - chicken, garbanzo beans, navy beans, croutons, red onions, green beans, tomatoes, and so on. always delicious - and really can't be beat for about $5. for dessert, a triple chocolate cookie.
thefrugalfoodie at 8:26PM on 03/23/07
Boxed lunch since we were in a meeting: Sliced chicken, salami, Parrano cheese, roasted red peppers and kalamata olive tapenade on ciabbata bread. A small side of smoked mozzerella pasta salad and mixed fruit.
FoodPorncess at 9:23PM on 03/23/07
I had a Bearnaise Burger at PJ Clarke's (seriously). It was strictly research...
Hamburger America at 11:06PM on 03/23/07
Just getting over a cold but I finally had a chance to try the 4-Alarm Chicken Sandwich at Wendy's. Not bad but pass on the combo... their fries may be the worst in all of fast food. And that's not easy to do.

SOY, on the Lower East Side.
