Spice grinders vs coffee grinders
I tried to grind cloves in my coffee grinder and wound up breaking it. Does anyone have recommendations for a decent coffee grinder that can handle the job or a spice grinder that would be even better?

I've hear this Kuhn Rikon spice grinder is sturdy and works well -

But for a few cloves, I'd just use a mortar and pestle.

I was going to say the same thing....I would use a mortar & pestle, and then if you wanted to grind them finer, you could put them into a coffee grinder. I just use a plain old coffee grinder for my spices, I don't even know the brand...I got it at Big Lots....and if they are too hard to start I crush them a bit with the mortar & pestle first.

I like using a burr grinder for coffee and spices. I find that the kind of grinder with blades does not give an even grind.
